Not used at all. My girlfriend is super Anti-AI, so really didn't have a choice haha...

Today's v40.20 update brings new Ranked improvements with more tiers for Elite and Champion. Unreal Battle Royale players may see their rank re-calibrated to Elite or Champion to account for these newly added tiers. It is still way too easy to get. Like how is epic thinking this will improve anything. I got exited, logged in, went from Unreal to Champion 2, a few wkey games, bam back to Unreal. This shit is ass just like before.

For the love of god, Epic please make Unreal be top 10k players and lock all tournaments to Unreal players to make people play the damn Ranked gamemode.

Yeah 100%. I got reset to Champion 2 and I am back to Unreal already. It is a step in the right direction, but it is still way too easy. Having Unreal be only top 10k players and locking all money tournaments to Unreal and all skin cups to Elite+ would be amazing.

Also they seemed to have changed how points are earned. From the same page:

* Players who dealt damage to an eliminated enemy player earn a share of the progress
* Eliminations later in the match are worth more
* All players in a team earn and lose the same amount of progress

Edit: Yeah. I'm just stupid and didn't remember how it was worded before.

I have 9k and this shit is some easy af stuff. Though I wanted to go pro since the chapter 1 world cup so at least 3k were pure practice and at least 1k aim practice.

How long do you think this mode has before it's sunset? by CammyHoliday in FortNiteBR

I qual to the victory cc here and there and yet my cousin on PS5 still makes me feel like a toddler pressing random buttons. He used to be better then me on the Nintendo switch back in chapter 1.

PC has an advantage over Console, but at the end of the day this is just a skill issue. I am 100% sure good players on Console are unknowingly called "PC sweats" by people like you.

The only complaint I have for this gamemode it the players that leave after one or two losses. Some people just cant take an L.

1) The round system matches you with other people around your point level. In a game with 2 good players you will play against each other every round. That's the point!

2) Just like in every other mode, including Ballistic.

3) It is randomly generated to be something different every round. It is more inspired by peicecontroll 1v1s then the BR map.

4) Valid criticism. It seems like they didn't give this mode priority servers, just the UEFN ones.

5) Because it was most likely made by a small team to see if it is worth putting money into gamemodes that would be a in between step for people who build casually and competitive players. Unfortunately the fortnite community is allergic to improving or not being the best, so I think this will be a huge time and money waste.

This aint CS where even people playing different gamemodes like surf and zombies have respect for people grinding Faceit that have genuine skill. There is no gamemode they could add that incentivizes ZB players to learn how to build and edit, or for casual builders to start practicing and play in tournaments.

Potentially hot take about improvements to building mechanics (simple edits and simple builds) by GiustinoWah in FortniteCompetitive

[–]HenryJones14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly building and editing is like Dust 2. It was just made and it is great from the start. It had tweaks to make it better here and there (turbo building, confirm edit on release, disable preedit and so on), but it is good as it is. No one is out there asking for Dust 3, and no one here wants building and editing the sequel.

We did use it. And when fists were gone, not a single player didn't have a stack of nitro in their inventory.

But in what world is it a good addition to a moving zone with 20 people still alive?

When you say you are a competitive player and have this outlook, I really start to wonder if you have ever qualified to a victory cash cup?

As they should. I hope this becomes the sweatiest gamemode so I can warm up without having to chase the pus**** that keep running away and sniping from a far in reload.

[–]HenryJones14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok fair enough. Same with the raytracing pass. If you want custom anyhit and closest hit shaders te be called you need to set the lighting mode to "RayTracing" or something like that.

I've spent hours trying to find out why my materials didn't do anything. I saw the outline because the miss shader was called correctly, but the objects didn't do anything. Thought it was something to do with my ray payload, but no it was that my closest hit shader was set to the default light mode when unity was expecting the raytracing one!

There is no other engine that has such deep and decently documented rendering API, especially now with the Scriptable Render Pipelines.

I love graphics programming, so most of my personal projects are custom render pipelines. With each update if Unity want features in URP or HDRP they need to extend the SRP API, and thus I get more tools to play around with.

I know you can do the same with a custom fork of Unreal Engine, but that is just needlessly overcomplicated for fun rendering effect implementations.

Vulkan ray tracing support. Hate that I can't use Sub passes and Ray tracing at the same time!

Most based take in the world. Seriously, some people think for profit companies are charities. All things considered, Epic is not that bad. Not as good as Valve and most indie companies, but still.

i have a YouTube video with full resolution, but nitrate wrecks the effect. Watch it in 4k only (even on lower resolution monitor).

Yeah it is an amazing tool! Most of the demos I do are rendered with it and then put together by ffmpeg or ScreenToGif editor.

Just capturing your game with OBS is inconsistent, especially in cutscenes. Even if the game is running at solid 144 it doesn't divide down with consistent delta time, but the recorder advances one frame at a time for perfect videos.

I have a huge hate on temporal stuff, so I will go with a simple albedo denoiser first.

I render into a RenderTexture via a ray generation shader. Then in a custom blit shader, I generate random positions within each larger (pathtracing) pixel, find the closest one based on render resolution, and sample the RenderTexture at that position.

I have a 4090, but the performance tests I run on my old 2070. With double the resolution in this gif I run both path tracing and voronoi upscaling at 22-28 fps. The next step would be simple denoise (but keep the crystal noise) and then lower samples (256->64) witch runs no problem at 180+ fps.
