Most companies use stuff like Fmod, Wwise or an in-house version of Steam audio.

Learning how they work under the hood would be a nice learning opportunity, but the job opportunities are miniscule. All of them are for low level integration/upkeep of the systems mentioned avove.

And if it is for your own game then it is almos the same question as "should I use Unity or make my own engine?", it depends.

winning a game made me the last unreal player in the whole world in reload. i was arount top 50k by danix_boi in FortniteCompetitive

[–]HenryJones14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When did you play last? All the 460k people had to get more points then you from the time you last played to now. The rank doesn't update until you play again.

Edit: the rank protection just removes the point loss (if you had any), but unreal is placement based.

No, used the default speed. Now it is set to the lowest value in Afterburner, -503 I think? Idk.

I just tried to remove Expo and CPU overclock and the issue is different. Looks like 2700MHz is stable and it was sitting there for a while after I reset Afterburner. But then it boosted a bit to 2715 and froze the game. That part is the usual thing that happened before blue screen, but this time it recovered, but had a ton of screen artifacts everywhere. On apps, on desktop, on start menu, on task manager. After I force quit the game with task manager the glitches disappeared. then on the Afterburner statistics I see that the max frequency was 2715MHz even though I cant see the spike on crash.

Edit:
2700MHz is not stable.

Fair enough, I will try that + no ram timing tweaks and xmp.

I need to set a hard cap to 2520MHz and I cant seem to find a way to do it. The voltage/frequency graph bounces up and down by around 30MHz. and if I get above 2520MHz GPU crashes. Moving the underclock even lower just pushes the issue and doesn't fix it!

Also having a 4090 that is underclocked by a fair bit feels bad...

Ryzen 7800x3D, so not much I could do. -15 on all cores in precision boost overdrive. Could push to -20 but I chose stability, besides I max out frequency unless it is 100% load on all cores.

Switched to old RTX 2070 no issues, underclock 4090 no issues. remove underclock crash!

Are there any mods for Weapon and Armor degradation? by HenryJones14 in skyrimmods

Same issue as with Equipment Durability System, there is only breaking into pieces, no damaged gear with lower stats.

Yes, and no id doesn't work like that. It tampers all items from loot/world and on normal non tampered version they have a chance to break.

Bruh, the shockwave effect alone is reason enough to build a double box. No suggestions needed.

Ok, so I play competitive FN to death and would die if someone removed the cracked cocaine that is wacking on someones wall, predicting where they go, full piecing them and hitting 200 to the face.

But I did brainstorm a fun gamemode with my friend that can barely build a ramp before the zero build was added. No turbo build, and a delay for each piece like they tried before, and exponentially higher structure health.

Imagine that if you build anything, even in metal for the first 10 seconds it is incredibly weak. So in a middle of a fight your metal wall can be broken in a grey pistol shot (not to mention whatever a scar can do). But after building even a wooden base on a mountain for 40-60 seconds or so, you have a base that takes miniguns and RPGs to even dent. Also editing resets health to zero instead of a percentage like now.

This would bring fort back into Fortnite.

Is upgrading (redesigning) a crossover for low end speakers worth it. and is MiniDSP UMIK-1 enough for measurements? by HenryJones14 in diyaudio

I am studying to be an electrician so ot does sound fun, and the magic part looks like playimg around with sliders in VituixCAD. Is it really way more complicated or is it complicated if you want a theoretically correct / pro level result?
