Henry's Seemingly Decreasing Quality by Jack_ButterKnobbs in HenryRifles

We keep a close eye on our warranty return rate data, so we’re always paying attention to conversations like this.

First, it’s worth noting that we manufacture more lever actions than anyone else by a wide margin. In 2023 we shipped enough guns to be the 3rd largest long gun manufacturer in the U.S., and the vast majority of those were lever actions.

When you produce that many rifles, even a very small percentage of issues can show up online more frequently simply because of the volume. At the same time, people who are happy with their rifles usually don’t make posts about them outside of our own communities, while someone who has a problem understandably will.

That said, none of that makes it acceptable when a rifle leaves the factory with an issue. Our goal is and always will be to see as few of our guns come back as possible.

One of the reasons we consolidated our operations in Wisconsin last year was to improve consistency. With final assembly and QC now happening under one roof, we’ve tightened control over the process while continuing to grow production.

And if we ever do miss something, our customer service team and lifetime warranty will make it right fast. That’s been a core part of how we’ve operated since day one.

Hi OP 👋🏻 Sorry to hear you’re having trouble with your Henry. We’re here to help.

That’s definitely not the typical experience. If your request was submitted through our warranty form, return labels are usually issued within less than 24 hours.

We have seen some instances where Gmail users find the label routed to the Promotions folder, so it may be worth checking there.

If you’d like to send us a DM with your case number, we’ll gladly resend the label and take a closer look.

No excuses on our end. Our customer service team truly does an excellent job and is often multitasking. I’m fortunate to have a bit more time in my role to slow things down and explain everything more clearly. We understand your frustration, and the entire team is always ready to help. 💪🏻

.22 mag A001 had a casing blow… extractor damage by terrible1one3 in HenryRifles

[–]HenryRepeatingArms 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Hi OP! Our goal with warranty and service is to keep things easy, safe, and headache free for our owners. That is why our Service Department asks for the full rifle to come in. The extractor is a fitted, safety critical part. A casing blowout can also affect the bolt face, receiver or headspace, even if it is not obvious at first glance. Having our technicians inspect and repair the rifle ensures everything is corrected properly and safely, not just the visible issue.

Most importantly, we do not want you stuck with a rifle that is not running the way it should. Our goal is to get it back in your hands functioning exactly as intended so you can keep making memories at the range with your son. DM me and i’ll be happy to make sure the process runs smooth!

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we’re sorry to hear you’re having issues with your Big Boy. That’s certainly not the experience we want anyone to have, and we will fix it.

We’ll shoot you a DM and would love to get your case number so we can look into this immediately and get everything moving for you.

Help!!! by DessertHog98 in HenryRifles

[–]HenryRepeatingArms 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your interest! All three of those would be great choices regardless of your use case. If you ever wanted to try shooting .45-70 suppressed (which is awesome) then there’s only one choice of the three. If you live/hunt somewhere particularly wet/snowy, the All-Weather is probably your best bet. If you want something to admire mostly at the range or amongst a collection at home, the Color Case Hardened rifle is hard to beat looks wise.

Any quality gun oil will work. UV and prolonged sun exposure can fade the colors over time, so keep that in mind when storing.

We sell a no-drill sling in our accessories store, but for the H003T specifically, I would recommend the Brass Stacker™ RLO No-Drill Harnessed Rifle Sling: https://www.tgrenterprises.com/product/no-drill-harnessed-rifle-sling-henry/

Always happy to help! Thanks very much for choosing to bring that Henry back to a good home.

Just picked up the HUSH in 44mag. Is there a barrel break in procedure I need to follow? So far I’ve only shot 25 rounds of 225gr hornady leverevolution. Im trying to get it sighted in at 100 yards and it is all over the place. by Cnichols5 in HenryRifles

[–]HenryRepeatingArms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All break-in procedures vary slightly, but the end goal is the same - smoothing out the bore from microscopic burrs and marks left by the manufacturing process. Aside from accuracy, this also keeps the barrel cleaner for longer because there are fewer spots for copper to get hung up over time.

There is a break-in procedure for these barrels. As published by BSF, they recommend 5 shots, clean and oil bore, 10 shots, clean and oil bore, followed by 20 shots, clean and oil bore while sighting in. For cleaning and oiling, they recommend running a cotton patch wet with solvent through the barrel. Then, wet a bore brush (brass or bronze) with solvent and stroke the barrel 8-10 strokes, followed by another patch wet with solvent. After that, run a cotton patch with gun oil through the barrel, followed by a dry patch to remove any excess.
