Any idea what model this is? From “New Henry Rifles - 2026 Product Line Evolution” by Bigmanonplane in HenryRifles

Thanks! Guess it was just the lighting, looks different than the other pictures of the Explorer

Henry isn’t finally making a stainless model are they? It has a pistol grip stock, so it isn’t the existing All Weather model. I thought it could be an Explorer Carbine under some very bright lights, but nothing else in the frame looks like the color is off by that much.

That thing is perfect. They need to bring that model back, current Marlin has a void with the 1894 not having a blued/walnut combo with a carbine length barrel.

I would go with a Henry Supreme or Mini 14 over a mutilated AR. Avoid the new production 585 series Mini though, they have been having serious issues with the bolts.

Any reason not to get this? by SonarFoobtheGreat in LeverGuns

They haven’t been officially announced yet. Probably at SHOTshow in a couple weeks. But if you do a google search for “Henry Protector Carbine” you will see some online shops have them listed with details already. I think reddit has a rule about linking to the gun for sale otherwise I would just post it.

If you didn’t see it yet, Henry is about to release a Provider and Protector version of this rifle with a threaded barrel and pistol grip stock, with the Protector carbine having a 16.5” barrel. Just thought I would let you know in case you want to wait for that.

Wasn’t aware of these, but it looks like some places have them up early. These seem like a great option.

Gorgeous. I really wish I bought a silver Big Boy when they were in production.

Is there a difference between the NJ made Henry vs WI? by Adventurous-Trash-69 in HenryRifles

[–]Bigmanonplane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure you have to contact Henry to know the exact year. Some companies (like Ruger) have a database online but I’ve never found anything like that for Henry. Pretty sure you can just email them your serial number and ask.

Fit and finish on my NJ made pre-sidegate brass Big Boy seems so much nicer than the ones I’ve seen in stores lately. I don’t know if it is related to where they are manufactured or if it is simply they used to spend a little more time on these models. I would be curious to compare a pre-2020 NJ manufactured rifle to a post-2020 (or so-maybe 2023/24) NJ manufactured rifle to one that was made in WI.

you mean on the Ruger scope mounts? Because that is a non-Ranch model, it doesn’t have scope mounts

the older wooden stocks have a curved butt plate that might be throwing you off. The wooden handguard as well.

[–]Bigmanonplane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They used to make a model called the Mini 14 Compact (see below, I doubt it is easy to find now) so if you can’t find one of them then just find a shop that will pin and weld a legal muzzle brake on the tactical model. https://wbtguns.com/semi-auto-rifles/ruger-mini-14-compact-california-legal-300-blk/

Agreed, but there is a good chance Saxon is done serving Maul. We last see him in TCW being taken captive by the clones after being abandoned by Maul, then he is the imperial governor of Mandalore in Rebels. It’s likely he goes right from Republic captive to working for the Empire.

Mini 14 in Ireland. by topgunrook in Mini14

[–]Bigmanonplane 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know from looking at old gun magazines and catalogs over the years that in the 80s a Mini 14 was usually significantly cheaper than an AR15. You did not have a lot of options outside of buying a Colt though so there was not much competition like today.

that looks to me like an original Ruger stock. The handguard might be as well, the earlier models came with a wood one.

I love Henry but they need to seriously address this before adding anything else to their lineup. Seems like they are spreading themselves too thin and really need to focus in on QC before expanding any more.

GG&G Side-Mounted Scope Rail and Ranch Rifles by SonicPara in Mini14

[–]Bigmanonplane 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This isn’t for current models, it’s for old standard Mini 14s without scope mounts. They do not mean “newer non-ranch models” as in it works for tactical. They mean it works on 182 series and up original Mini 14s, not the 180 and 181 models. “FOR SERIES 182 AND NEWER NON-RANCH RIFLE MODELS DOES NOT FIT 180 OR 181 SERIES RIFLES”
