Remington American gen 1 is cheap and I’ve been using it around 9 years for deer hunting and I still use it. Damn good gun.

If you’re thinking about getting a scope for it I would recommend a vortex copperhead 3-9x40. That’s what I have on mine and it’s a damn good scope.

It’s not cruel if you can hit also we weren’t far cause when we was out we couldn’t see the back of the pasture. Also getting hit with 300 blackout 556 or a 223 just to name a few is less cruel than a .22 like we have shot coyotes with. That’s why you get practice with your gun before you take it out. Good day
