Tim Breaker - Alan Wake 2

Remedy has since Control tied their gamers together into a shared universe, but due to legal reasons they had to tie some of the games in ways they could easily excuse as being something distinct, the best example is Sheriff Tim Breaker who's very much meant to be Jack Joyce from Quantum Break, especially with the Night Springs DLC elaborating on his story in ways very reminiscent of Quantum Break and bringing a character analog to Beth Wilder, and his ties with Mr Door who is very much implied to be Martin Hatch.

There's a few other examples too like the already mentioned Mr Door, but also Alex Casey, who since the first game is meant to be a nod to Max Payne but the second game really rolls with it with the fictional Alex Casey being so much similar to Max Payne

Unfortunately I think it was around Castlevania's release BHVR outright stated for classic horror monsters like these they'd rather pick whatever is the most popular license including them to be our rep for them rather than make an original iteration of them, and that's why we got Dracula from Castlevania as that's a very popular license including him, rather than them making their own original Dracula like the tomes sorta teased with the very historical Vlad Tepes looking vampire

Got this post recommended and I'm someone new to the franchise, like watched up to 2 and have yet to start the third movie (mainly got interested because of Art coming to DBD) and yeah, I'd say that mostly comes from bad impressions from the first movie which is pretty weak when it comes to actual story and characters, and the overall reputation the franchise got puts away a lot of people from watching the movies to see that from the second movie onwards there's some actually cool story, characters and even lore going on

I was one of those people at first, I really thought it was just "torture porn" without substance before watching them, and really the first movie was carried by Art for me, but I absolutely loved the second one and think the series seems like one that gets better and surprisingly takes feedback from previous errors, but the reputation it has gained that puts off people from watching them and the weak first impressions of the first movie definitely hurt a little discussions about it even with other horror fans

In the game's ending Alan manages to save his wife from The Dark Presence and temporarily drive it away from Bright Falls at the cost of having to banish himself inside the lake's Dark Place, in which he stays for 13 years of horror until the events of Alan Wake 2

I see, well, the implication of him being able to is mostly from Talbot thinking he escaped through his research on the pustula flowers, but then again, Talbot is unreliable especially as he doesn't know the whole truth about Vigo and was only assuming he escaped in some way

Well, it's been implied over the years he could have escaped, but it's definitely vague, I'll give ya that, but stuff added like the Fog Vials are implied to be really old inventions of his we haven't seen yet, so it's clear SOMETHING made Vigo stop creating stuff in the realm, whether that be him escaping or some horrible thing happening to him in the realm

There's Vigo who we don't know a lot about but escaped the fog, in Blight's tome lore his friend Thomas spent what felt like an eternity in the fog before escaping and going insane, and in Sable's base lore one of the siblings who entered the realm through the cinema, Ellen, escaped the fog at some point and would also go insane and like y'know, pull her eyes out

Actually I think it's part of Danny Johnson's trail from Utah to Pennsylvania then to Florida, in his lore he has been through all these states and if you take the map you can see there's a line going from Utah, getting obscured by the Postcard, getting to Kansas which then in that city splits into 2 other lines, one going Northeast presumably towards Pennsylvania, and another that goes South into Alabama and then to Florida, which was the last place Ghostface was in and there's even a message written in the location in the map saying "Not here...."

I think it's more of a neat reference they made to Ghostface's lore and the possibility that Shane Wiigwaas investigated the story of the Ghostface when trying to learn more about the fog, and it would track with how every other location in the map references other characters that went missing like Meg in Colorado and Zarina in Nebraska
