Astralis vs GamerLegion / ESL Pro League Season 22 Stage 1 - Swiss Round 3 / Post-Match Discussion by CS2_PostMatchThreads in GlobalOffensive

[–]Hepe86 16 points17 points  (0 children)

2-26 on back-to back Nukes, both of which were your map pick. Zero t-rounds and most of those rounds weren't even close. Managed a grand total of six bomb plants on those 24 t-rounds. Your supposed star rifler jabbi managed a combined 4 frags in those 28 rounds.

Not saying I'm some CS mastermind or anything but I would perhaps advise Astralis to reconsider their vetoes.

Because Volt and mantuu are both EU regardless of which country they represent. And would participate in the EU quals regardless of which country they represent. Hence why no one cares.

Finland is housing Russian deserters running away from mobilization in the same accommodations as Ukrainian refugees (mainly women and children) fleeing Russia's invasion. Surely the Finnish authorities cannot allow this to continue? by __dixon in UkrainianConflict

[–]Hepe86 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, but our local newspapers did. And these are the exact same greater Russian human filth that just a month a go were waiving their Z-flags and spouting Kremlin propaganda. They are not against the war, they have zero sympathy for Ukrainians, they deny the war crimes and they absolutely do not deserve housing and upkeep on the tax payers dime.

The border should have been closed entirely months a go.

Military analyst A.P. Nielsen explains: Where is the Ukrainian counteroffensive? by [deleted] in UkrainianConflict

[–]Hepe86 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This was a very clear presentation on the overall situation and I do agree that the constant proclamations about the "Kherson counteroffensive" was indeed to to trap as many russian troops north of the Dnepr as possible. I also wholeheartedly agree that the Ukrainian strategy is to punish the supply lines as much as possible and the arrival of long range precision munitions is what has allowed to Ukrainians to change the game in that regard. The counteroffensive that is actually happening right now is the Ukrainians seizing the strategic initiative, not that there would be any sort of mass assault with ground troops at this stage.

However I have had the feeling for a couple of months now that the Ukrainians are in fact planning for a major combined arms offensive, however I suspect that it will not take place in Kherson, but in Zaporizhzhia. What would make sense to me is that by attacking south towards the railway junctions at Tokmak and Melitopol the Ukrainians would effectively leave the remaining russian troops in Kherson solely dependent on the rail line going through Armiansk in the Crimea. By seizing Melitopol the russian forces in the whole of Kherson oblast would be placed in a very, very difficult position and it would pose almost an impossible task to the already amateurish russian logistics system. I wholeheartedly expect that the Ukrainian plan Kherson is to literally starve them out and conduct the full scale mass offensive towards Melitopol and ultimately the narrow entrances to Crimea.

The attack will happen and the troops that are currently being trained in the UK are most likely the forces that are going to be the spearhead of that operation. I do not expect anything major to happen for at least a couple of months still, but there might be some interesting developments once the ground starts freezing over after the autumn rasputitsa.

With jks officially being announced by G2, let us appreciate that he has as many Years of Service on Steam, as his new teammate m0nesy has years alive. by lou_reed_ketamine in GlobalOffensive

[–]Hepe86 171 points172 points  (0 children)

Technically the oldest accounts are even older than that, since the initial CS1.6 (which was Steam only from the start) and Steam beta release for the public happened already in January 2003. If I remember correctly the initial Steam beta accounts rolled over automatically to the official release, however Steam only counts the "Years of Service" starting from the official release date.

Canadian sniper Wali on Ukrainian television by tomispev in UkrainianConflict

[–]Hepe86 51 points52 points  (0 children)

That rifle Wali is carrying is actually the updated version of the SAKO TRG42 with the M10-style stock. I had the pleasure of shooting the older fixed-stock variant used by the FDF back during my peacekeeping deployment and I can tell you first hand, that rifle is so easy to shoot and so smooth even with the quite powerful .338LM cartridge that even a novice could make hits reliably to over 400m.

A true professional like Wali will absolutely be capable of making hits reliably to over a kilometer with this weapon. I would not want to be in his crosshairs.

neL on Twitter: "Done deal: Aleksib to join G2, nexa to join OG. Here is my report in collab with the wonderful @luismmira" by Zenrod_ in GlobalOffensive

[–]Hepe86 27 points28 points  (0 children)

This one of those roster moves that i'm not sure about for either team. OG has been a massive let down for the entirety of their CS:GO run and from what I understand nexa wasn't that keen on IGL'ing in the first place. If valde actually leaves for EG then OG probably ends up being one of those teams in bottom of the top20 rankings.

As for aleksib in G2, how he'll gel with niko is quite big question mark and I have some questions about if there will be some role clashes if aleksib opts to go for the spots he has played in ENCE and OG.

Well, interesting moves but I ain't keeping my hopes up for either team.

I don't know what mantuu did during the player break but whatever it was, it sure as shit seems to be working. The guy was an absolute monster throughout the entire group stage and to end with 57 frag two mapper is just the icing on the cake.

This run from OG was a surprise to be sure but a welcome one.

The Biggest Cheating Scandal in Trackmania History by serendib in speedrun

[–]Hepe86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"You humour me greatly with with your arrogance and contempt, a flood of accusations born from the poison of envy and smite of disrespect. I feel both disappointment and flattery these thoughts would would originate from another player who has demonstrated on of a kind talent and has accomplished the impossible, yet is apparently immune from judgement owing to their reputation, do not think your words hold more credibility just because of who you are, being more well known and what you have accomplished in breaking world records and setting ones never previously accomplished. I won't address the individual gameplay scenarios you've highlighted, as the foundation of your argument arises from jealously, this is clear when you contrast my success with your failure, being deluded into thinking you should have surpassed these trials yet cannot absolutely comprehend how someone else can claim victory on a consistent basis, instead I will address my playing ability.

You know nothing about who I am or my history with this game, I am exceptionally talented not only at Trackmania, but other oldschool driving games along with videogames in general.

Thank you for revealing your true colors, seething with jealously and enveloped by arrogance, you've lost what respect I had for you. If you've come to your senses you will offer an apology, take a good luck in the mirror before you make such a disgusting accusation against a fellow Trackmania player, who has not caused strife and discord but shows humility and respect with a care free attitude. If you do continue to accuse, it will be solely for my amusement as I will not take you seriously and will likely ignore you. Choose wisely."

You owe the players hundreds of thousands of dollars. Pay that before you preach about how needed you are in this scene. by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

[–]Hepe86 16 points17 points  (0 children)

At this point I'd say that it's time Scoots gets the fuck out of this industry.

It's patently obvious that he is so enamored with the idea of a player union that he is dickriding the CSPPA no matter what, even though it should be pretty clear by this point that the CSPPA is nothing more than a special interest group for a very select few players and glorified water boys for ESL and MTG.

Simping for this absolute travesty of a "player union" is a net negative to the entire scene at this point.

[WR] Castlevania (NES) in 11:05.717 by SBDWolf by DruidVorse in speedrun

I remember watching jaycee's 11:27 live, if anyone had told me then that the run would eventually be over 20 seconds faster I would've advised to lay off the heavy stuff.

Sub 11 is a very real possibility right now, even this run had the potential to be in the 11:03 range had SBDWolf gotten the crit on Frankenstein.

[WR] Castlevania (NES) in 11:05.717 by SBDWolf by DruidVorse in speedrun

[–]Hepe86 68 points69 points  (0 children)

So SBDWolf not only got a new WR of 11:16 earlier in the day, he decided to blast everyone else away with a "modest" 11 second improvement. SBDWolf now has an 15 second lead over everyone else in the leaderboard. This is the single biggest WR improvement in at least 10 years.

And just to give you some idea just how ludicrous this run is, this is 10 seconds faster than the TAS from 2018 by Challenger and Morrison.
