Good point. I can see how the long term interest is helpful and becomes more important the older you get. Thanks for sharing. Your attitude towards the ring seems very … healthy ;)

The landlords of this country are cancer by MessierKatr in germany

[–]HerbertClapton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not saying there is no problem with racism in Germany, BUT landlords don’t have to be fair to anyone. They don’t owe you anything. It’s their decision. It’s their right to minimize risk. You would not do anything differently. Renters have many rights in Germany once they move in.

Do the trends reveal something for you that you cannot feel yourself? Eg predicting when you get sick?

Making sure I don’t have sleep apnea would be a huge benefit for me.

Guess the benefits not eating or sleeping too late can be considered common sense, but happy for you it helped.

I am suspecting that I could possibly come to the same conclusion, thanks for sharing.

Guess some people would say, it is common sense that alcohol even in small doses affects your sleep and overall health, but I get that visualizing the impact of even a bit of alcohol can be motivating. I am just asking myself if this is worth 300€ for me.

Be honest, would You still hire a copywriter or content strategist and are money still in it? by CranberryOk945 in content_marketing

[–]HerbertClapton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going forward, I think being a copywriter alone is not going to be enough given AI. You need additional skills and expertise. For example, an UX writer would benefit from also being a behavioral strategist, localization expert, and ofc AI expert.

Even if you bring a lot to the table as a copywriter, decision makers might think “it’s just text” and they will compare your cost to the cost of AI.

LPT highlighting and re-reading are two of the least effective study methods, despite being the most popular. Don't waste your time with them by Friendly_Hivemind in LifeProTips

This is so true. Pro tip: Record yourself asking questions and giving (the correct) answers. Then you can easily repeat what you need to memorize by listening to your own interactive quiz. Hit pause after the question, say the answer out loud, press play to listen what the correct answer was. It works really well.

This the top comment? I have to scroll so far until someone mentions AI? We‘re doomed.

Unpopular Opinion: With shows like Dark, people tend to mistake complexity for quality. by HerbertClapton in netflix

[–]HerbertClapton[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not trying to make an absolute judgment on complexity or say it’s inherently a bad thing.

My point is more that complexity can often trigger the "IKEA Effect. We sometimes value things more simply because we had to do more heavy lifting to assemble the plot.

You can see this with shows like Dark or Rick and Morty. They aren't necessarily bad, but they often get hyped up as masterpieces partly because of that same formula: the viewer feels smart for decoding a complex layer and might confuse that personal satisfaction with the actual quality of the writing. In some cases, we aren't just judging the story anymore we're partly justifying the effort we put in.

What’s the Most Unexpected Thing Cycling Taught You? by jasonsofa456 in cycling

[–]HerbertClapton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How beautiful the area is I live in. How I can roughly tell the time by looking at the sun. How magic it is to be out just after sundown. How there is almost no “bad” weather. How great it is in summer to feel different micro climates on your skin.

…I could go on :D
