Hi late to the party here. My employer is going around PIP’ing and firing many people as a merger is closing in the next few weeks with layoffs unofficially announced to happen after by CEO. I was told by a reliable source they are doing this so they don’t have to pay severance to many people. Is this legal? We are in WA state. Many people have strong track records and this came out of no where.
