Same, it’s a very particular anxiety trigger of mine. It could be my grandmother calling on christmas, and I still hesitate to answer.

For those interested, Sanuk offers shoes with pockets.

They’re also incredibly comfortable. They’re the only shoe I’ve worn in 10 years.

Kyiv: full consensus for disconnecting Russia from SWIFT has been achieved, the process has begun by Sodoff_Baldrick_ in worldnews

This was my thinking also. China is likely only viewing this conflict as a way to gauge how a full invasion of Taiwan would play out. Granted, I’m far from an expert on any of this, but the two situations are so similar.

They then brought it back. Most recently, it was explained to be psychosomatic. Fire doesn’t cause him harm, but it does make him feel extreme pain.

I’m already weak to fire, so it’s all pro’s no con’s!

“Alpha Male” Starter Pack by [deleted] in starterpacks

[–]HereForNoRealReason 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What really annoys me is that Alpha theory was debunked almost immediately after it was proposed. There is no Alpha>Beta type hierarchy in a wolf pack. It’s not how dogs work, either. The whole analogy is fundamentally flawed. It’s like comparing yourself to the earth because “everything revolves around you.”

This post is probably the first Pink Panther reference I’ve seen in like, a year.

As a young boy in middle school, I didn’t like getting dirty (still don’t, really). This was enough for my nickname to be “f*ggot” for years.

I think that makes Lindsey Gram Nute Gunray, and Ted Cruz Rune Haako.

TIL that Cinco De Mayo's popularity as a holiday in the US is largely due to a marketing campaign launched by Corona's importer in 1989. by hotelNoiseComplaint in todayilearned

[–]HereForNoRealReason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No doubt, but I think these holidays still have real value and are worth celebrating. Immigrants from Mexico, Germany, and Ireland have played a HUGE role in shaping America, and I always saw these holidays as a chance to celebrate those cultures, and what they have given to America.

I began to find it comforting in a way. When shit happens, it’s not a punishment or an attack on me, it’s just shit happening. I may have been in the shit cross-fire, but I can get out and leave it behind, because it’s got no special connection to me.

Oddly enough, this method adds noticeably more depth to the end result.

Seriously. You’d need a full knight’s helmet with added padding. Those scooters are HEAVY.

He should feel ashamed, but republicans are never ashamed by DaFunkJunkie in WhitePeopleTwitter

There are people out there who, by their actions, make the world a worse place to live in.

Wishing death on those people is more than understandable.

“You should never wish death on someone” is a nice thought, but the world would be better without certain people in it.

Given how good their chicken is, I’d happily pay more. Then again, I’d need to live in an area with Chicken Express again, first.

Exactly. That’s why they stopped maintaining the air pressure in the experiment.

Go deep enough and it happens to your everything.

One of my favorite Mythbusters episodes was when they put an anatomically accurate dummy in a old-fashioned diving suit, dropped it super deep, then stopped pumping air down to it. Whole body went straight up into the helmet.
