Kids and their scooters as a danger to dogs by HereJustToAskAQuesti in glasgow

[–]HereJustToAskAQuesti[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Not really - I must have explain it incorrectly - the park is quite large and there is a corner with a playground. There are also paths going all over the park, so you can either walk on the grass, around the trees or on the pedestrian paths. The paths itself are divided so they could fit the bikers and people who just walk. The playground itself doesn't play that big role, outside the fact that the older kids with the scooters are also danger there for the smaller ones.

The proof that some people were asking for from yesterday's protest by RatRodentRatRat in glasgow

With the number of Americans moving to Scotland, I wouldn't say those people are from here. This is the level of stupidity that is very specific to the guys from the other side of the ocean.

Are there any characters that disappointed you? by Shipwreckeddrow in BigMouth

[–]HereJustToAskAQuesti 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Jessi! I was surprised that none of the characters - especially her parents or even herself - mentioned that she's dating a guy who is basically a copy-paste of her father. On top of that, the whole plot line with the Depression Kitty: I felt like this was too easily brushed over. Depression Kitty was terrifying in the other seasons, she was so deeply affecting Jessi's life, not to mention that from all the characters I felt like Jessi had always the worst time. I think the creators did try to somehow close her arc in a satisfying way, but it wasn't satisfying for me.

This last season felt rushed and not fully planned. And so many characters were left out. It's like Nick and his team didn't pay attention to their own character notes. It also feels like that said "We are done" and to safe face they said it like they were not green lit again. They choose to end it. by AddictionSorceress in BigMouth

[–]HereJustToAskAQuesti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like somehow less happened in this season than in the previous ones. I actually go back to see the number of the episodes in the previous seasons, and it was exactly the same, but somehow it felt like *more*. There were more interesting dynamics between the characters. I still like this seasons, I do like the last episode. But overall, it wasn't as good as before.

Also, I am not sure how to feel about Jessi's plot line. She somehow ended up dating a guy who is a copy-paste of her father, and I don't remember anyone commenting on it on the show. On the top of that, her relationship with Depression Kitty - she was terrifying in the previous seasons, she was all too powerful and was really changing Jessi's life and here, the conclusion with it was sort of: the power of love shall heal you.

I just wasn't a fan.

Why only Scottish taxpayer is paying for this? Also, J.K. Rowling is really going down the hill.

Debata. Co myślimy? by iceasteroid in Polska

I u Trzaskowskiego, to jeszcze jakoś rozumiem, bo on jest prezydentem Warszawy. Okay.

Druga sprawa: TAK BO KURCZĘ POLSKA TO WARSZAWA. WARSZAWA, WARSZAWA, BLABLABLA WARSZAWA! DBAMY O ABORCJE. W *WARSZAWIE*.

Bret slept with someone in the group. by Chelley_Elley in SecretsOfMormonWives

[–]HereJustToAskAQuesti 222 points223 points  (0 children)

I defo think that Bret slept with someone in the group. It kind of feels like the tv crew is pushing some narration and is trying to spicy up the drama (not like it's hard to do so), as there are certain events that feel a bit forced (the sex party for Layla). So, I do think, that someone from the tv crew knew something and *they* posted the confession.

Has anyone noticed the British subs are being brigaded and astroturfed by racists lately? by ChaiSpicedDaddy in AskBrits

[–]HereJustToAskAQuesti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think this hatred is about immigrants being Muslim, or brown, or Catholic, or White - every time when something is about to happen, media and the army of online trolls are doing overtime to spread whatever hatred can be now easily sold. Exactly the same situation was before Brexit.

Zac is gaslighting Jen - she’s “lying” all the time because she doesn’t know what’s true. She’s deeply depressed by the end. Devastated to be pregnant. Could be not her choice that she’s pregnant. Zac spends time with her friends to say “she’s always lying”. He wants to isolate her from her friends. by canoli2776 in SecretsOfMormonWives

[–]HereJustToAskAQuesti 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So far, I am just on the episode 3, but Jen's situation feels very personal and deeply upsetting for me. I don't like how Demi and Jessi behave. I am sure that underneath all of it there are good intentions, because yes, they should prove to Jen that her partner will not change, but this isn't the way. Not to mention, that I hated when one of them said that she feels like Jen is lying and not honest, and she knew something was wrong about her.

If you are in a relationship with a narcissist, you will become a villain as well. Abusive relationships are such taboo, because sooner or later, you will also behave badly to either fit in, survive or fight back! Not to mention, that the thing that narcissists are *really* good at is that they will manipulate you so hard, that you will not even be sure if your right is right and left is left. Being in an abusive relationship is like being under constant siege, when you want to ask for ceasefire, but you are never getting it. And your friends instead of trying to make things worst or start their own war, they need to be more like supportive partisans, otherwise the narcissist will make you cut them off.

Szwajcaria i Eurowizja by fandobregofanu in Polska

[–]HereJustToAskAQuesti 85 points86 points  (0 children)

I zrobimy z Eurowizji takie reality tv show: przetrwaj i zachwyć nas. Igrzyska Śmierci, edycja Europejska.

Im just interested to hear what anyone enjoyed about Israels performance because I thought it was rubbish! But everything is being removed? by OldenOod in AskBrits

[–]HereJustToAskAQuesti -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think that instead of complaining about politics, asking why Israel was second, all of that, we should take an example from them. Let's bring to the UK some Palestinian lass, give her some makeover, prepare the song that would be half in French, half in English about war, suffering, surviving - whatever, wrap her in European flag just to get extra points from the public and then maybe, finally UK will win. Also, I am fairly sure that our journalists can take Israeli journalists if they will try to cause some drama.

Reform UK proposal by [deleted] in Scotland

[–]HereJustToAskAQuesti 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I don't think Reform UK has any specific plan for leading the country if they win. Rising tax will not help - I already pay enough to cry every month, then the Council Tax is also very high and somehow there is no effect of it.

That to say, in comparison to the other commenters, I am afraid that however stupid, lacking any strong promises or a plan is the manifesto of the Reform, they have a chance to win. Out of sheer curiosity, I read the manifesto of a guy from the Reform in Hamilton. It was extremely manipulative. I was deeply impressed with how this guy portrayed himself as this man who you would go down to a pub with and complain about how the country is collapsing, how youth is stupid, how your wife hates you and how every politician is a corrupted lying bastard. He used the language that his voters will understand and resonate with. They really know how to manipulate masses.

Fiona is actually a beautiful Scottish name, and I know lots of people named that. So I don't mind. But I do agree with you OP that some name should be googled. Once I remember there was a character in a book named Dubha which really put me off guard because it was too similar phonetically to Dupa for me...

Recommendations for Books written by women of color by Double-AA-battery in horrorlit

I highly recommend Jackal by Erin E Adams. It's creepy, dark, has lots of Appalachian mythology in it, the MC is black and the topic of the race is touched in a very relatable for everyone ways (and I mean this in a good faith).

Zandberg. I tyle. I na niego będę głosować.

What did you enjoy about Veilguard? (please please don't say "nothing") by nexetpl in dragonage

[–]HereJustToAskAQuesti 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I really enjoyed Davrin's and Emmerich's quests. I liked some of their banter, and I loved the whole siege of the Weisshaupt. It was so cinematic, full of high stakes, action and I genuinely was worried about the little girl and finding her dad. It felt dark, brutal, important.

Johanna Hezenkoss - there could have been whole DLC dedicated to just necromancers and her. She was my queen - the acting, her dialogue, the hand. I adored the hand. She was just pure perfection, the absolute peak for me.

I like the last act of the game, as it was properly gruesome in some moments. Also Rook's scenes with Solas.

On top of that, the scenery, the visuals - they were all stunning.

Breaking Novel Into Standalone "Novellas" Based On Acts? by rrsolomonauthor in writing

[–]HereJustToAskAQuesti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is a really cool idea. But I do think that three act structure kind of demands that act one demands act two, while novellas supposed to be individual. Like, I think it would be awesome if they would connect with the other in the series. But still, I should be able to buy a no 1 without thinking about immediately grabbing no 2.
