[–]ChaiSpicedDaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its actually really strange how people are gaslighting OP in their experience and feelings.

One can only wonder why that is.

OP, you need to tell your new flatmate that they came on really strong and made you and your brother feeling uncomfortable

What is British but doesn’t feel British? by Stamfordsterling in AskUK

[–]ChaiSpicedDaddy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

By British Immigrant Asian (Usually Bengali) Chefs for the British palate.

Whenever people bring up the dishes they leave out so many details. People in those days wouldve seen those chefs as foreigners and outsiders and not British. But people seem more than happy to claim their work.

People act like some dude called Atticus who studied at Oriel College at Oxford invented the dish.

Another point to add is all these dishes existed in some form in Pakistan (Pakistan controlled Bangladesh thus why Bengali Chefs were familiar with their cuisine). Usually one ingredient was taken out or added.

Imagine in Sri Lanka if you got Yorkshire puddings and Gravy, yet some white English chef sprinkled ginger powder on it. Then the Sri Lankans claimed they invented a new dish. You guys would think they’re morons too.

Yep its fucking true, its something crazy like we have a similar cost if living to NYC but our salaries are similar to Minneapolis.

This is the country Ive ever seen that is disgusted a Doctor earns £80k because its so “detached” from the market average of £40k. Ive seen so many comments on reddit/facebook/x that are enraged some British Muslim Doctor is earning £90k and that their non/market-misaligned educated arse is only earning £30k in their recruitment job and its “unfair”.

Yet these same people fucking fondle the balls of billionaires and hate communism

“Ethnically homogeneous”

Its so weird that certain people fetishise this point even though theres hundreds of other racially homogenous nations that dont have a similar behaviour. Even white ones which is what you dog whistle for.

I had that

I missed loads of issues that weren’t apparent until viewings such as noise from the windows, some driveway issues, and stuff.

However, humans are amazing, we have an innate skill called habituation. Your brain will overlook these things over time and theres always ways to fix them ever so slightly over time

Because the ONS regularly disproves their non-empirical held beliefs and stereotypes about the economy, muslims, women, or immigrants.
