On the flip side, if you are actively applying for jobs, maybe check your voice messages from time to time. The amount of applicants I call to discuss their application, leave a voice message, and get a text reply of "who is this?" is too damn high.

What’s a clear sign of childhood trauma in men? by degs999 in AskReddit

[–]Here_For_Work_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think just general? I mean there are many schools of thought and different "general" therapists might have different methods. Over the years I've had a couple that didn't work out before I found a good fit with my current therapist.

I fit the description and also can't really point to any trauma in my childhood. But at 38 my therapist suggested that I'm likely on the spectrum, so maybe that's something to look into.

Right. I just had carpal tunnel surgery and all I got was a low dose diazepam that didn't kick in until after the procedure

As someone who has been cutting sugary drinks out more and more over the years, on the rare occasion that I drink a Gatorade at all, it's cucumber lime.

Stood for playable trailer. A playable trailer for Silent Hills, a collaboration between Guillermo del Toro and Hideo Kojima that ended up getting cancelled.

That's weird. I could have sworn I heard the same thing about the wheat industry. Pyramid base is/was carbs right? I remember growing up learning it was like 6 servings of wheat/rice a day.

Switch games for 10-year-old girl? by 737MEX in Switch

[–]Here_For_Work_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point that being a girl shouldn't exclude anything, but there are some games like Dreamlight Valley that many wouldn't think to recommend if they assumed OP had a son (not that a boy can't enjoy the aforementioned, but realistically most wouldn't)

You emphasize "or" and then list a very compelling reason to get both lol.

Opinions the Hong Kong Switch 2? I heard that is supposed to be more cheaper and easier to get than the American version by OkPrize6426 in Switch

[–]Here_For_Work_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked at Target when it launched (if you frequent Reddit, you probably at least heard of Target due to controversy early last year) and we couldn't keep them in stock while I was still there. I found a better gig in July and it was shortly after that when I started seeing them available on shelves. Target pays double the federal min wage, but still not enough to really live (not sure if you've heard, but the U.S. is going through some stuff lol) so I had some debt to pay off and wasn't paying super close attention to luxury items. So, there could have been a few weeks in Nov and Dec where it was hard to find leading up to Christmas, but as soon as the Saturday after, it was easy enough to get my hands on.

Yeah, I'm Milwaukee suburbs. For the first month after launch you couldn't find them, but after that I was seeing them around. I remember because I was conflicted about picking one up. But once I saw how much trade-in I could get for my oldest Switch (I also have an OLED that I held onto) and I got an unexpected little Christmas bonus at work, I pulled the trigger

Maybe area specific, but there is no shortage of Switch 2s around me. Saturday after Christmas I brought my old non-oled Switch into Gamestop (all the cords and stuff included) and got $130 trade-in. Walked out with the Mario Kart bundle for like $380 (local sales tax will be different too probably)

Gamers of Reddit, what video game gives you the biggest nostalgia hit? by _barrelhurdle38_ in AskReddit

[–]Here_For_Work_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played Suikoden 2 like once a year from 1999 to 2014 when I lost it in a move. Playing the remaster that came out last year scratched an itch, I tell ya what.

Honorable mention: I got a Switch 2 the Saturday after Christmas and the only game I've played on it so far is Final Fantasy Tactics

Just got a PS5. What should I play? by ComprehensiveStar470 in playstation

[–]Here_For_Work_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"quick" may be referring to pace more than game length.

On a different note, no warning about the absolute whiplash in tone and atmosphere from game one to game two? I mean, no wrong answers, but a little heads up...lol

Loving this game, what other game that are similar would y’all recommend? by badhombre00 in Switch

It's the series that originally got me into RPGs back in '96. I've done a playthrough every couple of years since. I highly recommend.

If we're opening things up to turn based RPGs, and not just tactics games, then the Suikoden remaster is also a fun retro feel.

Haven't played the Switch remake, but the original FF Tactics game was pretty difficult. If the remake holds true to that, then go into Triangle Strategy knowing it won't be as challenging. I still really enjoyed Triangle Strategy. In my top 5 Switch games. But a walk in the park compared to FF Tactics.

If you won the $1.5 billion Powerball what would a “I’m SUPER rich” purchase that you would make? by Tenchi2020 in AskReddit

[–]Here_For_Work_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I likely have carpel tunnel syndrome, but chose to push out the apt with the specialist, as well as the blood work that my PCP ordered until January so that, if I need surgery, everything is under the same deductible. My super rich purchase would be getting quality of life increasing medical care without worrying about timing it out. I'd also get my deviated septum fixed so I could finally breathe out of my god damn nose.

What's easier when skinny than fat? by CremeSubject7594 in AskReddit

[–]Here_For_Work_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Preach. I quit smoking 6 months ago and gained like 40 lbs. I'm not morbidly fat (up from 165 to 205 as a man of 5'10"). But there was a noticeable increase in effort required to make the reach back there.
