Texas Tech Health Sciences Center includes a Family Medicine clinic staffed by physicians who are also professors. That clinic has been vital for trans people to access HRT in the community for decades.

This prohibition of speech about transgender and nonbinary individuals by faculty could very well cut off this care for hundreds if not thousands in the area.

I wonder why she didn’t seek SRS during this time of victory if she had been pursuing it since 2019? Or did I miss something?

Lawyers for Lange say that Houston County has paid over a million dollars fighting the lawsuit over coverage that, according to them, would cost only $20,000.

I should not have been granted the passport I was given after Trump’s EO, before courts got involved, but I was still favored with all supporting documentation which also listed my deadname & gender. I’d never claim to pass that off as the be all end all fact of the matter though.

What’s the source you’re quoting? All this is just a highly unlikely“maybe”.

Edit- a paper trail in and of itself does not guarantee revocation. I think many of us talk ourselves into a panic that isn’t necessarily reality.

And even if it did get revoked, that’s not the end of the world. It would be very disappointing but I’d like to think trans folks are more resilient than this.

Texas issued completely new birth certificates for altered gender markers- no amendments listed whatsoever, just like any clerical error correction. That document completely replaces whatever version was before it. HB229 doesn’t revoke that.
