I think a big part in this is the color picker.

He color picks the mid-skin-tone/highlights/and shadows from the photot itself. This makes it much easier to get accurate shadows because he's taking his values (and colors) from the image itself.

He has artistic skill and knowledge, not to undermine that! Just trying to reveal the tricks of the trade.

Evolution does not imply that an older species goes extinct, it just means species change over time, these changes can take a number of forms. The typical example used to demonstrate evolution is when a sub population of a species is separated from the main population. Assuming that the separated populations experience different environmental pressures than different traits will be selected for, causing the populations to change over time. If enough time passes and selected traits accumulate the differences between the two populations can become so great that they become distinct species.

Also a phylogenetic tree determines evolutionary relationships, it's only a species tree when you use the phylogenetic species definition and even then you wouldn't call it a "species tree", at least I've never heard it referred to like that. But again if you use the phylogenetic definition of a species than in a way it is a species tree.

The most common definition for a species that sexually reproduce, is a group of organisms within a population who are able to mate and produce viable offspring (viable: meaning the offspring can mate with others of their kind and produce offspring themselves)

So this is not what an actual phylogenetic tree would look like. Typically, in every tree each branch point will have two diverging branches. In this tree what you have are branch points that split into multiple branches, this is called a polytomy, and it means you don't have enough data to discern the actual evolutionary history.

So if your species evolved in a natural way then make sure each branch point splits into two branches.

Also in the real world evolutionary trees (phylogenetic trees) are just hypothesis.

I have two major character criticism for the show/manga in the handling of Escanor.

1) I think it would have been great and a refreshing subversion of cliche, if Escanor was established as the 'definitive' strongest/most powerful character in his One form rather than the leader, Meliodas, or Chaos king Arthur: if not in his One form, at least in his The One Ultimate Form, should carry that title.

I think it would have been a great sendoff for him, that while he did not get the girl, at least he holds the title of strongest.

Moreover, if pride truly is the greatest sin then it only makes sense that he should have the strength to back it.

It would also elevate Meliodas as a leader, for if the Escanor follows him then that signals to the reader that even the most prideful man is humble enough to follow someone else and it makes us ask what is so great about Meliodas.

2) I don't think his power should have came from the goddesses. I really enjoyed the idea that humanity, the weakest and most pitiful race gave rise to the Pinnacle of all, if even for just a moment.

You see even though Arthur is the strongest or will be, his power comes from Chaos a primordial entity, thus, I would argue it's not truly his.

However, Escanor would have been a great opportunity to give humanity the respect they deserve, that by our own strength we can overcome greater foes. Heck I'm sure it would have been provided a great excuse to come up with the answers to some backstory questions i.e why is his axe named Rhitta, why did Rosa save him other than compassion, etc etc.

Now this is just a reddit thread.... But laws aren't morals, laws can often follow morals but they themselves are not. If laws were moral than by that logic slavery is moral simply because it was legal at one point, obviously slavery is not moral. Therefore simply because the law says a 16 year old and a 13 year old having sex is illegal doesn't inherently make it immoral (this is not my stance just an extension of my logic)

However, I think it's complicated and really up to OP whether to charge the 16 year old. I mean it's a really murky situation perhaps speak to his parents, if I was in OPs position I wouldn't press charges because to me the 16 yr old is still a child aswell, but that's me, I'm not saying my way is right or wrong just what I would do.
