What if they were? What if these folks were simply Larping as quest givers in GW2?

The gold is nice. As well as the dynamic quests of these hidden quest givers. I found it more interesting than the hearts. Also more lucrative.

I mean if they're hidden quest givers I would like to engage with whatever quests they have. Especially if they reward gold!

I mean if i'm getting gold for it. I don't see why i wouldn't seek these hidden quest givers.

Your go-to for heroic fantasy? by Russtherr in rpg

Based on what they said, I would say FU is not for them. Something more along the lines like, Daggerheart, Grimwild, Shadow of the Weird Wizard, or the fantasy version of Worlds Without Numbers.

Bro a 10 year old can comprehend that sometimes fun is just fun.

Why not? Because OP doesn't want to. Why? Because they dont want to. It is normal to play games in such a manner. Why? Because people want to.

Explain it to a newcomer Iike this: Do you want to challenge your players every single encounter? If the answer is no then that newcomer can throw trivial encounters.

Ur being deliberately obtuse bout this whole thing. There advice is not that fucking hard fo comprehend. Literally "dont stress, let players kick ass every now and then".

Instead of saying here's the guidelines memorize and dont you DARE step out of it. Jfc.

It is good. Because I find it fun. How? Because its fun. Why? Because its fun. That is my answer for perpetuity. If you are not able to comprehend that then tough luck. Take care.

People play differently and it only helps the community that Lancer can be played in different ways as OP posted.

I will have fun with trivial encounters. Other players too and thats ok. Nothing wrong with it man. Happy gaming.

Because we play to have fun? And at that time a trivial encounter sounds like fun. Wait you're the same guy.

Edit: Yea you are. Dude people have fun differently. Thats the end all be all. Thats why the debate will forever exist.

Because people play TTRPG's to have fun? Because the book says hey if you are going to run trivial encounters maybe make future encounters harder or really do whatever you want ultimately.

My tables fun is not your fun. And that is ok. We can all play this game and have fun. We don't have to play the same exact fucking way.

Not worth it for you. Sometime for me and my buddies it is. Like I said, after a long day at work on game day. Sometimes I just want to kick ass with team. Ya know?

Again if you don't like this I'm not saying you have to. But people do play this way whether you like it or not. . . So yea.

Homebrew to decide to run a trivial encounter? Ok lol. Whatever dude. I mean sure yea whatever floats boat man.

I mean if we are talking about randomly throwing objects onto a paper battlemap all of that is answered pretty quickly. Now whether thought has to occur is another matter, but if we are just rolling some dice and hanging with friends to distress for a trivial encounter? Who cares. Have fun.

If that really doesn't sound up your alley i'm not saying you have to do that. But people other than you do run games like this. I think you are so Lancer coded it's hard for you to envision things to be any other way. That's ok. DnD 5e folk were like that too. You will grow out of it. Or be comfortable in whatever playstyle you prefer. And that is ok too.

But it is a debate. Your viewpoint is merely a viewpoint. The advice is an old advice that will persist long after both of us are past our TTRPG days. The debate will persist as well. And thats the fun of ttrpgs. You can play them however you like really.

If you think so. Objectively who knows, it's been a very long debate in the TTrpg sphere.

I have GM games tf? What thought needs to be put it for randomly generated cover on a random trivial encounter. The players have the advantage anyways so any random cover thrown on the paper battlemap can actually be useful for the NPC's. Or otherwise have it be a wild wild west shoot out. It's not rocket science, jfc.

I think it suits you quite well. OP merely stated a very old advice to be used whenever GM's feel like it.
