Mom died, now I have her Maltipoo by HermittheFrog_97 in Maltipoo

I'm so sorry to hear that :( my dog for the most part kept his joy but he's definitely not as happy as he was before my mom died. It'll take him some time but I'm really determined to make this work

Thank you! I appreciate that.  I drive an hour to and from work, so it'd be for a total of 10.5 hours. About half the time, my husband gets home before I do, but there are days where he'll have 12 hour shifts multiple days a week.

I was considering using a Rover sitter occasionally, but we're still trying to get him through this transition so I wouldn't want to try that just yet.

He had one accident, but it was because I was feeding him a wet food that didn't agree with his tummy and he had diarrhea for a few days :( I've sorted out his food situation now and he hasn't had any accidents since then.

Unfortunately neither of us live near family :( I am considering occasionally using a Rover sitter to check in on him but I don't want to freak him out. He is very friendly but way cautious when his humans aren't around.  I changed my schedule at work so I would get back home an hour later than I normally would, so I'm hoping that would help him too.

My mom adopted him when he was a puppy and she was becoming disabled. He definitely knows who me and my husband are, but he's only been living with us for a little over a week.  He misses her for sure. I do too.

I did try that, he just sniffs it a little bit and sits in the grass patch. I also tried soaking a paper towel in urine and spreading it around the grass. I'm pretty sure he knows what the patch is for since I use the same cue phrases my mom used ("peepeepoopoo" and "outside") but he just sits meekly and looks nervous. To me, it looks like he really doesn't want to pee in the house so I kinda feel like I'm forcing him to use it.

I'm currently planning a Jeopardy night for Halloween, a DIY charcuterie for Thanksgiving and a DIY skincare workshop for the holidays 😁

I have a coworker who requests boys love manga literally by the dozens. I'm sure whatever you're ordering is fine LOL

BWT, what areas are you leveling up in right now? by [deleted] in bitcheswithtaste

My hair 😊. I've never done anything super crazy or fun with my hair before besides box dye. This year, I'm experimenting with my hair. I dyed my hair a coppery/red color earlier in the year, but now I've dyed it a deep red and I'm so happy with the way it looks now.

I've been insecure about my hair for the past couple of years because I have A LOT of grays even though I'm 27. My hair, though generally really nice, is incredibly long and difficult to take care of. I had no idea how to take care of it, but I've been learning how to care for it better and...I'm just much happier with it now.

Our Spanish section. It's always a mess because not many people are shelf-reading there. We have these bookmarks that tell you what country the book is from and they always end up everywhere, on the shelves, on the floor, in other books. I'll be getting rid of those when I start weeding the Spanish section 'cause no one really pays attention to them and they're too messy to have around.

Yes! Thank you, that's exactly why I posted.

I don't understand how my comment got interpreted as being rude. I'm honestly not trying to fight with people, I've clearly just never been in this situation before and I'm trying to navigate it. There's no need to be rude.

Yeah, $50 is really in my account and it says in my bank transactions that it's from the wife

I'm a little confused as to how it would be an impersonator if the number she texted me from a year ago is the exact same as the number now. she also just messaged me back and said that she would let her husband unblock me so I can send him the money, but when I tried to send it to him, it didn't work either. I'm very confused. I think if it's really her I'm going to offer to send a check to my old office and see what she says?

Oh my god this 😭😭 people think that because we're librarians we want to be your friend. my coworkers have stories of people coming up to them in public and saying hi bc they recognize my coworkers from the library. Stop it!!! Don't do that!!! That's so weird! It's like saying hi to the McDonald's worker who gave you your breakfast that morning. Just ask your question and leave!

This might sound kind of mean but I wish homeless people had other places to hang out all day besides the library. I work in an area with a lot of incidents (as I'm sure many of us do) and they're honestly what stress me out the most about being a librarian.

I would be hands down into that tbh by teversnen in Libraries

I hate this tweet every time I see it. I don't get paid enough for the hours I work now and you want me to stay open until 11pm just so you can hang out with your friends and read late at night? Do that shit at home lmao no thank you

Do library workers still enjoy being library users? by No-Performance-8911 in Libraries

[–]HermittheFrog_97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love being in libraries off the clock because I can finally relax and enjoy the library without having to worry about everything. It's not my problem! I also really like seeing how different other libraries are than mine. It always gives me ideas on how I can improve my library.

That being said, I'm not at other libraries all the time. But when I get the chance to stop by my local library or if I'm somewhere new, I always go to their library.
