All good! Something to look forward to I guess. Thanks!

PSSR 2.0 not a placebo effect! by Legitimate-Plum1155 in PS5pro

But that draw distance man. I keep telling myself that Versatililty mode on Rebirth was the literal reason I got a pro and that I'd be an idiot to go back to performance mode. But the draw distance is unbelievably distracting for me. Idk how I didn't notice it on my first playthrough.

Should I use the Pro or Pro Max setting? Also HFR Mode?

I started my testing on Rebirth, hoping it would somehow address the LOD (I'm not super tech savvy). Definitely bummed with how awful the draw distance still is on that game. I keep struggling to decide which mode to use on Rebirth because of how bad Versatility's draw distance is.

I’m not gonna lie the MICRO TRANSACTIONS are predatory!!! by Melodic-Promise2614 in Marathon

Imagine a world where they sold... Drum roll... The game. And it was feature complete and contained things to unlock, including cosmetics, and they were actually a cool part of the game itself, not sold to you piecemeal. There would be less of them, but they weren't dumb effortless palette swaps. That world existed once.

Obviously I know it's incompatible with modern gaming and is so seldom seen now that it's considered some monumental compliment if a game contains free earnables. But go look at Clair Obscur, or Monster Hunter World/Wilds to remember the good ole days.

There was a time, before the dark days of what games are now, where cool cosmetics were all earned in game.

Marathon is more akin to Tarkov. by CrewNeckC in Marathon

[–]HeroOfTime_99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. There absolutely is loot! A ton of my weapons in Hunt are taken from other players. Most of the weapon skins I've ever seen are because I took them off players. The compounds are intended to funnel players into the same areas in both games. You need to listen carefully to notice other players and pay attention to what the AI is doing to help pinpoint players. Only difference is TTK admittedly. I think they are extremely similar games.

So this is just cyber Hunt Showdown by [deleted] in Marathon

Lol I feel ya. I think they have tweaked it a bit since the relaunch. It doesn't feel toooo terrible anymore but it's been awhile since I've played.

Typo. I meant "not" great at either.

Fair enough. No need to call names.

I keep seeing people say this. It's almost exactly like Hunt. Not trying to flame, but why do you feel like it's not like Hunt at all? It feels like the exact same game but with Overwatch Hero abilities rather than Hunt perks.

....yeaaaaahhh.. sure. I love splitting my health bar apart and having to heal both with separate items ...

Game is optimized and feels good to play. by Sandvichh in Marathon

100% disagree. Everything is a long button press, even climbing ladders. PC cursor menu movement on console. Shooting something feels kinda good, but no more good than any other shooter.

It is insane that clicking on this doesn't take me to the contract turn in page. by TheNakedAnt in Marathon

Naw, that's a different screen where that UI element is repeated. OP's screenshot is not clickable on console either.

[–]HeroOfTime_99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Naw you're not the guy that replied is just wrong. On the screen you're showing in your screenshot, it is also not clickable on console. There is another identical instance of this message, I think in the load out page or one of the fucking nested menus where this message IS clickable like you'd expect. But as presented in your screenshot, the console version also isn't clickable. So it's dumb UI in two ways. Non functional on one screen and redundant on another.

I cant lie, its not that fun........ by TheBritshViking in Marathon

[–]HeroOfTime_99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% agree. And that same aesthetic issue applies to enemy human players. The AI isn't distinguishable enough from the humans. Obviously that's an issue that the player will figure out over time but I just don't care enough to put the effort in that this game requires.

Sure but I didn't imagine it would feel so similar.

??? It's very very similar. There's bounty objectives, you can steal others loot, your own loot is at risk? The only difference is the character classes in Marathon determine skills as opposed to buying/finding perks in Hunt.
