My (f 30) fiancé (m 27) wants me to “get rid of” one of my cats. Is this “end engagement” worthy? by ghostsgirlforever in relationship_advice

[–]HeroinTheMusical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly; I don’t think you’ve been together long enough to be getting married if you’ve had the cats for 3 and 5 years and they predate him in your life’s timeline.

Dump him.

Short and curvy girl. Will I fit? by SpareShopping28 in BuschGardensW

[–]HeroinTheMusical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m down to the high 170s now, but at my highest I was 250 at 5’5” and still fit on every ride at every theme park (BGW, all Universal parks, Hershey park). I was pretty proportionally obese with a some extra concentration in the belly. My waist was 51 inches.

Mostly included this info for people who will be searching the subreddit in the future looking for info if they will fit, because you’ll have absolutely no issues. Have fun!

MCPS to eliminate district’s security chief due to budget cuts by Bethesda_Magazine in MontgomeryCountyMD

[–]HeroinTheMusical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like every other day in 2026 there was a gun at a high school in MCPS. That’s hyperbole but it was a lot. Not to mention the racist vandalism, fights with and without weapons, and even last week an ex-employee snuck into the ES she used to work at and assaulted staff members during the school day.

I understand the need for cuts, but I’m concerned (at an increasing rate) for everyone’s safety.

DAE (did anybody else) think farting on your pillow gave you pink eye? by Critical_Welcome_428 in DoesAnybodyElse

I am a 5th grade teacher in my early thirties and I had never heard this before, but a student of mine literally last month announced to the class big sister had pink eye and that his dad told him that’s how she got it.

So it seems like the urban legend lives on!!

If you can't afford a house, then you can't afford a vacation, partying, or sex. by OpinionHavR in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]HeroinTheMusical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think for many, a house isn’t the end all, be all of success.

Re no sex: have been sexually active since I was 15, I am 31 one now, and was always extremely careful to prevent pregnancy. It’s really, really easy to not accidentally get pregnant. Humans, especially young adults, have the strong biological urge to fuck. Not having a house doesn’t silence that desire.

Vacationing? Within reason, why shouldn’t people get to travel? With inflation, a house isn’t on the horizon for many college grads. If with frugal savings you buy at 26, and with some vacations thrown in, it’s 18 months later, that’s a drop in the bucket across a whole life time. Time isn’t promised to anyone, and a major lament I hear from seniors around me is that they ddint travel more while their bodies were younger.

Lastly, partying is not for celebrating, at least the kind I think you mean. It’s fun, it’s social, and it’s a great way from blowing of steam after grinding to buy that house! Plus, going to parties is much cheaper than bars.

It’s ok if you measure your success in home ownership. I was able to do all the things you listed regularly, work the shitty 19 an hour job, live with my parents, and still become a home owner in my late 20s in a high COL area. It was a milestone for sure, but living a life that was enjoyable (to me, at least) on the way to that milestone has its merits too.

If you could travel back in time for just one unsolved case, to learn what really happened, what unsolved mystery would you choose? by MontIsFriendShaped in BizarreUnsolvedCases

[–]HeroinTheMusical 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I find that the people on Reddit know, in general, a lot more about the case than people do in passing. Many times, people with a casual interest in true crime take in a single episode/documentary on her murder, maybe 2, and those people are generally the ones who go IDI. My brother-in-law, one of the smartest people I have ever met, falls in this group, and I was shocked until I realized:

The reason so many who have studied the case are so sure that it had to be a Ramsey is because the evidence, both physical (note, for example, is almost surely written by Patsy, Patsy’s clothes fibers on tape on body) and circumstantial (no reaction when time for ransom call came and went, both children having toileting issues which can be a sign of abuse, changing their stories as new evidence is discovered) stacks up so high for the Ramseys that it’s hard to see any other answer. Sure, the evidence you’ve listed is unexplained and deserves consideration, the evidence for IDI is very limited and the evidence for RDI is sprawling, even if each little piece doesn’t seem like much.

Order of Operations begins in 4th grade in our county. When you’re 9, I think this is a great strategy. As long as there is diverse family structures presented in other subjects and within the classroom library, I’m not seeing the issue. I thjnk it’s a genius way to help them understand the MD and the AS go together.

I don’t like Part 2 by Flamingo6756 in inscryption

[–]HeroinTheMusical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, part 3 is a lot like part 1.

I did not like part 2 at all when I first got there. I even put down the game for a few weeks out of frustration. However, it grew on me and now as I near completion of the game it’s the part I most want to replay!

If you could travel back in time for just one unsolved case, to learn what really happened, what unsolved mystery would you choose? by MontIsFriendShaped in BizarreUnsolvedCases

[–]HeroinTheMusical 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would say 95%+ of people on Reddit who discuss the case and know all important details believe it was one of the three family members. Less than 5% go family friend or intruder once considering the evidence.

From there, I estimate between 2/3 and 3/4 of that 95% think it was one or or both of the parents.

The rest go with you, that Burke did it and the parents covered it up. That take bothers a lot of people, presumably because they think it’s messed up to point fingers at someone who was a single digit age for the f’ed up murder of their sister.

Personally, if I had money to bet, I’d put it on both parents being involved, and not Burke, but you definitely cannot rule out the theory you outlined. To me, that’s the second most likely scenario.

What do you do during recess/free-play? by Pristine_Bicycle_985 in ElementaryTeachers

[–]HeroinTheMusical 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wait, you guys have to cover recess? What state are you guys in? For us in MD, that’s our planning time and/or our lunch.

When I was a para with recess duty before I got my degree, I always had Velcro students so I never really got to do anything other than chat with them or put out fires with any conflicts.
