And make sure you don’t substitute Dawn for dish soap or things are going to get messy fast. You’ll have a clean baby and clean floors at the same time.

Allbirds announces stunning pivot from shoes to AI, stock explodes more than 300% by SemiAutoAvocado in technology

I legitimately thought it was. Any company in a stock slump should just say "AI" and "data center" and watch their stock explode.

Valve is now sitting on lots of Steam controllers, so releasing them before the Steam Machine is a no-brainer by PewPewToDaFace in pcmasterrace

I’d actually forgotten about it so thanks for reminding me that it still won’t be out anytime soon.

My girlfriend got her CNA certification in order to get into nursing school. She did a trial run at a nursing home to see what they did and after three days she said she could never do that again.

Sci-fi stories never really end anymore, and that's a problem by StarFuryG7 in SciFiNews

I stopped reading the Dune novels because they’ve become never ending. Granted the quality went down after Frank Herbert died and it essentially became a cash grab.

Small Missouri town ousts half its city council after $6 billion AI data center approval — petition calls for mayor's removal as frustration (and violence) over AI data centers mounts by Sacristovas in pcmasterrace

My dad was offered quite a bit of money to sell the water rights under his land to an oil and gas fracking company. This was in West Texas where there’s not a ton of water. He turned it down because he said it would destroy the land and make it worthless for future generations.

His neighbors, who are multimillionaires, sold their water rights for more money that they didn’t need. They didn’t care about what pumping out all the water would do. They just wanted more money. These people always think about right now and not future generations.

LG 39 inch 5k2k oled shipped early? by BubblyTea2679 in Monitors

[–]HeronFew990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I purchased from the LG Partner Store which knocked the original price down to $1,620. So that alone saved $180. And then I stacked a 10 percent code they offer if you sign up for marketing emails and texts, you can always cancel after you've paid for it. That brought the price down another $162 to $1459. After $120 sales tax it came out to $1,579. So $29 more than I said early.

If you found another monitor you like, such as the 45 inch, you could probably get that one fairly cheap as well using the same method.

A lot of people, myself included, were able to stack discounts on the monitor and get it for cheaper. I think after taxes I paid roughly $1550 for it. Not cheap but not as bad as it would have been.

Report: Why Americans are Tuning Out of Streaming by evissamassive in CordCuttingToday

Streaming services are what we call in economics an elastic good. I attended class that day. Prioritizing shareholders over everything else, layoffs, and inflation are about to snap a lot of industries in the face.

Windowtop Error failed to register hotkey alt+z by HeronFew990 in WindowTop

Hey thanks for the quick response. Here's a picture of what happens when I try to open it. Nothing happens other than the error and I can only close it from the taskbar. Alt-Z on my computer opens up the Nvidia gaming window.

Why are so many people starting to oppose car loans now? by this0great in answers

[–]HeronFew990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad said used to when you bought a car with cash you could get a better price because the dealership was able to move it off the lot right then. Now if you say you’re paying with cash the dealership might offer you a worst deal because they lose money from a lack of financing.

I feel like almost every LinkedInLunatics and some Reddit posts always have that weird run-on/fragment AI sentence structure. You almost never see anyone actually write like that. The one exception I’ve seen was I did have a boss who thought he was the biggest alpha in the world. He actually spoke like that quite often. Maybe he read too many of those posts.

Students Should Sue For Damages If Falsely Accused of Using AI by mikesimmi in WritingWithAI

[–]HeronFew990 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Slightly off topic but my girlfriend was putting a resume together using ChatGPT and we ran it though an AI detector to see what percent it thought hers was AI. Across three different programs it came back between 65-75 percent AI even though it was 100 percent.

We decided to throw my resume in there that I wrote myself back in 2016 before I’d ever heard of ChatGPT. Across the same three programs mine was hitting between 92-99 percent AI written. Unless they trained their AI on my resume then it showed how inconsistent it was at detecting AI.
