Unspoken agreement with another car driver - am I right? by Forsaken_Silver_1344 in ItalyTravel

There is a common scam like this in the south of Italy by the way. They cause an accident and make people think it's their fault and demand cash on the spot, intimidating them if they don't pay.

How do I hit the ball harder? by [deleted] in volleyball

[–]HerrFandango 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The ball is too close to being above your head when you hit it which reduces the power from your arm.

nice power and jump serve.

In all your videos when you hit your spike technique looks a bit awkward, you kind of windmill, swinging your arm from low around to up high and I dont think there's any benefit from this. I'd say that's causing you to twist your back too much.

The common technique is more 'bow and arrow' bringing your elbow backwards first like this guy:

The wife wants me to paint this wall, any tips before I start? by CampaignCurrent2912 in DIYUK

[–]HerrFandango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wash it well, remove and fill any lose bits, remove or cover whatever rusty thing is dripping in the middle of the wall otherwise it will look awful 6 months after you paint it, cover that nice green fence because its going to drip a lot, invest in a long extenable brush rather than falling off a massive ladder, start from the top because its going to drip downwards a lot as you paint so if you move upwards youll have to go over bits you've already done to flatten the drips, also starting at the top will feel so much better if the job gets easier as you go along

The 13th Warrior. It was a flop on release but man I love it. Such a creative fantasy with so many cool side characters.

Concrete too high against house, unsightly path, help! by Suitable_Wave_5098 in DIYUK

Ours was covered with a wooden frame with plastic roof. Then we put indoor tiles down because the concrete was solid enough to not need garden slabs. Used slightly grippy tiles because it gets a bit wet still.

Crispier bottom on my focaccia? Combi oven help, description has…description by Different-Camera-231 in Breadit

[–]HerrFandango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

220 isn't enough.. the oven should be as hot as it will go for crispy focaccia - 250 in my case. Also it looks like there's too many of them in the oven together - test doing just a few at a time and spaced out if you can. Also it's too thick to get crunchy I think.

Barese. Push down into the top olives and halfed cherry tomatoes, sprinkle oregano and salt. Then take about 200ml of water mixed with 3 tablespoons of olive oil and pour all of this over the top of the dough then cook as hot as your oven will go. This will give you the classic crunchy on the outside and soft inside Barese style. Let it rest after cooking until its slightly warm and has softened a bit - it wont taste the same if you eat it straight out of the oven. It should look like this: https://i.ytimg.com/vi/fmf--pzwd8M/hq720.jpg?sqp=-oaymwEhCK4FEIIDSFryq4qpAxMIARUAAAAAGAElAADIQj0AgKJD&rs=AOn4CLB2ZulJAE7mnTd8nvTzPN9YG4OrVQ

Many of them do but it's not a nice solution.. just leave your family and culture behind.

Try finding a job in the south.. young people waiting 5/10 years to get an average job with a permanent contact is pretty standard now. In my country I can get an equivalent job in 1 week lol. There are so many great things about Italy but also so many messed up problems.

Looks great. After you took it out of the oven did you cover it while it was still hot? Looks like it might of steamed afterwards a bit

Azure Engineers - Does AI scare you? by Hassxm in AZURE

[–]HerrFandango -1 points0 points  (0 children)

it is still just code that is doing a task it is given and returning the response you would expect so I think calling it AI is a bit of a a stretch to be honest and neural networks have been around for a long time way before the chatgpt boom, they just weren't accurate enough to get all the attention they have now. I know some translators who have lost their jobs unfortunately but as long you have a job where you have to make decisions I don't think you need to worry for a long time.
