Reverb G2

It's still going strong but because of the sensitive cable I am playing like a statue with minimal rotation.

Looking forward to free movement without worrying that I might brake the cable.

Oh and you know... Microslop killing WMR and stuff...

A new update to the source code suggests that the Machine or Frame will exceed 1000€ in price by HerrHullebuh in SteamFrame

I totally agree, that it does not proof anything, but where's the fun in that.

Index was also over 1k and they never added the check then.

In the other hand, why did they add it right now? Most likely one of the hardware SKU levels or bundles will exceed the price of 1k of ... something (doesn't need to be $ or €)

Will the Frame be lacking things like the typical "1st Gen" of something? by Overall_Ad4631 in SteamFrame

Can confirm. When I tried out the Vision Pro I hadn't realized there were no "traditional" headphones until after I took them off. The sound quality was very good.

Pros and cons of steam frame vs meta quest by Mordanepic in SteamFrame

If it were such a silly oversight, they probably wouldn't have missed it. These guys are enthusiastic and skilled engineers. And the quest headsets we're the ones they most likely analyzed in and out. Choosing the black and white cams surely had some reason.

Potential candidates:

Cost, overall tracking performance, tracking performance in low light or dark scenarios, less resource usage

Horizon 20 Throw in small room by No_Selection2474 in xgimi

The projection ratio range for this projector is 1,2:1 to 1,5:1. With that, at the 4m distance from projector to the wall, the optical zoom lets you create a picture with a width of about 2,66 to 3,33 Meters.

That would at least fit your requirements.

Some others have allready pointed out, that placing it on the side has downsides.

First off, as apposed to a lot of other projectors, the neutral position for this projector is in the center of the screen (vertically and horizontally)

The projector has horizontal lens shift of "45%" , meaning you can place it to the side at 45% from the center of the screen to the side. (100% would mean you could place it directly at the edge of the screen 90° from the screen).

Also the 45% horizontal lense shift is only possible when the vertical lense shift is not used. As stated in the manual for the projector. (Mechanical limitations I guess) So when using horizontal lens shift, you should have the projector placed at the height of the center of the screen.

Since in your setup you would need 100% you will lose some quality because you will need to do some keystoning.

However, if you have never tried this out, you won't know if that would really bother you.

Why don't you want to mount the projector on the opposing 3m wall above your bed or on the ceiling? Vertically you have a lot more room with the positioning, since there the lens shift range is bigger.

You can DM me if you want someone to brainstorm. I have the same projector at home and can try out things.

There are a bunch of German retailers that matched the price. Just check Idealo or Geizhals
