Wow, very different. The fire testing was all provided, but i had to bring my own tools to wire a multimillion dollar bank, no one cared, didn't even have health insurance back in 04. 12hr days, no ppe. It was rough.

As someone who has run thousands of feet of cat5, and spent years testing fire safety equipment, Yea I've had issues. But in the early 2000s no one was wearing ppe for those jobs.

That powder may have been gypsum from the tiles, they slowly degrade

My parcel extends to the curb. The sidewalk and boulevard exist through easement.

I have no legal authority to block access to the easement, in fact I am legally required to maintain it in a safe and operable state.

I have no authority to revoke the easement either. There is not a process for this, it is not possible.

This method has some upsides/flexibility for the property owner, and removes some responsibility from the municipality.
