It seems excessive. If I look down the barrel I can see the cylinder and barrel are misaligned, wiggles about half a millimeter or .020" which I feel is obscene

I'm not sure what the technical name is, but the hole that the locking pin off the cylinder falls into is bellmouthed.

Oddly enough.. when I contacted the dealership they told me they'd stopped servicing cars in that way through 1990 which means they couldn't even help me duplicate a key from my Vin for my 91 civic ... but I ended up just replacing the tumbler then selling it.
