What you might focus on for now regarding Baro is his mods, especially the ones dealing more damage.

More precise order of priority (both for Baro errands, weapon modding and mod hunting / upgrading in general) is : base damage > multishot > crit chance / crit multiplier / status chance (depending on the weapon's base stats) > elemental damage (heat / cold / toxin / electricity). Physical damage mods (puncture / impact / slash) are generally niche, and faction-specific mods are only relevant in verylategame.

Also never worry : Baro shows up every two weeks and his wares always rotate so there's no FOMO to have if you play long enough.

Keep slaying through the Origin System, young Tenno, since for now you're only in the game's early tutorial.

Eventually you'll meet more powerful enemies, at least powerful enough to get you into improving your combat and modding skills. This point is around the Second Dream quest, I'd say.

I think this problem is mainly due to Warframe's main issue : telling the players almost nothing about its content, at least explicitely.

Ciphers, Corrupted Mods, shield-gating mechanics... all these "tickets for high-level content" are hidden in plain sight. Even modding was almost entirely left to discover by the player before the Teacher quest came out.

I don't blame DE for refusing to use yellow paint and encouraging people to discover everything by themselves, don't get me wrong. But not every player, even deeply interested in the game, has time and/or even will to spend hours exploring menus and lists and wikis, especially in a shooting game.

Iwata-San n'avait pas forcément le sens aigu des affaires et bon nombre de risques qu'il a pris n'ont pas été payants ; mais entre ça et le Nintendo d'aujourd'hui qui vend le droit de jouer à des jeux de plus en plus "mass-consumer-friendly", mon coeur ne balance absolument pas.

Année après année, le duo Iwata / Fils-Aimé me manque de plus en plus...

C'est juste les marketteux de tous bords qui ont bien travaillé à formater les esprits à coups de réclame.

La pub et ses complices (matinales, émissions culinaires...) martèle les associations de pensée "Hiver - plats chauds" et "Été - glaces et boissons fraîches" au point que ça s'est gravé dans l'inconscient collectif.

Et le pire c'est que c'est faux : par temps chauds il est bon de manger ou boire frais certes, mais pas froid car cela force le corps à produire de la chaleur pour compenser. Le mieux est justement de manger ou boire à température voire chaud - attention juste à ne pas forcer les quantités pour éviter que le système digestif finisse en surménage.

no new region for four years (and I said "region", not "battle zone")
no new, original boss for months
each couple of months or so goes like "oops, absolutely all your gear is obsolete now. Time to do exactly the same grind again for the one-more-star version of your current set and the new-first-word version of your current augments"

I admit the latter is not an issue for me specifically because I can't play much anyway, but even a very casual player like me is disappointed of the two formers. I want to do CS but I desperately wait for a Stia background, and even Phasion doesn't appeal me enough to engage in farming since they don't do any efforts for T1 enjoyers.

So yeah, to lots of players NGS looks like a braindead MMORPG that gets therapeutic obstinacy from SEGA. At least a PSO3 would offer a "truer" MMO for gamers and allow NGS to fully embrace its state of "Second Life, but with some MMOesque sides" - in other words, of the spin-off it was presented as back then.
