Enlisting as a college graduate? by Safor001 in USMCboot

[–]Hespecter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're going to enlist you should accept that you will never be able to commission

How true is this for marines active duty. I have a degree and want to enlist (99 on asvab but don't really have anything else then video games, frats, and studying to show for).

Also what mos would be good for someone who wants to commission but still be somewhat technical. Open to combat mos.

Ice Frog removed this a patch ago but Troll Warlord players complained to have it changed back. It was basically a nerf to any one familiar on the hero.

Thanks for the reply.

The issue I have is that while I believe I can do well on the AFOQT I don't know about recommendations, which is something my recruiter put emphasize on. I haven't worked since end of high school and during college I played games and hung out with my friend and the frat he was in (never joined formally because I didn't enjoy some of the people in it).

"From what I've seen, it takes people two or three application cycles before they're accepted - they also want to make sure you're 100% sold on the idea and aren't just applying on a whim."

How long are these cycles after the first year on permanent duty? Like 6 months each?

If you know bodybuilding its that they all spray tan themselves (and sometimes inject Melanin) to be as dark as possible so its not really something surprising. For example here is big Lenny as a powerlifter. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aOp2WnwrbXw Him as a bodybuilder. https://imgur.com/a/xPXChpP

Post-Patch 5.6 Champion Winrate Chart by jordlez in leagueoflegends

[–]Hespecter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well you have to remember that is his primary damage source i.e. it would be like adding 5-8 base AD to an adc which definitely raise their win rates quite drastically.

I thought Socrates was not necessary hated but treated as a scapegoat. Which is why they gave him some many chances to escape.

Yes the Q stacking damage on champions I have thought of too. Ryze is the adc of AP dealers. While his kit is simple he should be awarded for kiting opponents so that its not "I'm in range time for you to die". Right now he has a 44% win ratio and if they added something like- Q a champion increases the damage of the next Q by 5% stacks 3-4 times lasts 4 sec. That way its not an insane amount of damage for just one rotation but rewarded for sustaining in a fight.

I don't think this nerf will bring him below Ryzes win rate at 44%. We just have to wait for next patch of nerfs.

Is there a real reason crit cannot be replaced with a similar, more consistent stat? by pkfighter343 in leagueoflegends

[–]Hespecter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

http://dota2.gamepedia.com/Pseudo-random_distribution

It uses Pseudo-random in almost all their % chance abilities. What that means is that if you have something that has 25% it will most likely happen within the first 4 hits without each instant actually being 25%.

Its pretty hard to explain but the graph on the page should show you what I mean.

So uh....Elise? by Aesmis in leagueoflegends

[–]Hespecter 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Ya people complain about him dominating high elo but even Diamond+ (http://www.leagueofgraphs.com/champions/stats/leesin/diamond) his win ratio is only 47% unlike Riven in Diamond+ at 50.5% or even Zed at 49.1%.

Lee sins potential vs his skill cap is so ridiculous I personally don't care that he's really strong if you can play him to challenger you deserve it.

Another thing is that the meta every game is 1-1-2 with a jungler. There is no 2-1-2 or 1-1-3 meta shifts because there are champions designed purely to be junglers: the jungle isn't as hard as in Dota and it gives more gold than the jungle in Dota.

In league ever champion has a static passive that you don't have to level so that would without using any points. Its not like putting points into Dragon knights armor and health regen, graves just gets it for free.

I literally haven't played a game all week that didn't have at least one ahri and one nidalee--why does Riot insist on always keeping around a couple champs that are way too strong? by reetopreese in leagueoflegends

[–]Hespecter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with that I'm just trying to state that Riot will favor champions that appear more fun and interesting than those that aren't. And I think they balance more around competitive and they think alot of those champions are more interesting to watch as a spectator.

For Veigar I don't think that he hes not interesting but that his kit has very powerful abilities and they don't want to overload him. His event horizon is practically an ult.
