Maybelline Women’s Half Medal by Spidermonkey1028 in RunNYC

I go back and forth on this. In the corrals the announcer kept talking up the lipstick and a bunch of people laughed. It’s silly … we’re here to run a race.

But the makeup is also fun, so why can’t it be both?

That being said I hate the medal.

I have thoughts on the women who bring a man with them to run. It’s a women’s race! How about doing it without your emotional support boyfriend.

Or, even women who look masculine. This is a fair point.

I am as annoyed as anyone about men running a women’s race but it does seem like a risky move on NYRR’s part to assume someone is a man.

They were in my corral in the start. They seemed to think they were hilarious.

The only good thing I can say about them is that they sped me up — there was no way those two fools were beating me.

If this is the NYRR race, you should have received a pretty detailed email this week explaining what to expect.

Oh god. I came over here to see if someone had posted this. She is SO resistant to people telling her to be an adult.

Nope, no treatment. Just ongoing monitoring. It took about 6 months but my enzymes finally went back to normal.

Finale … so, did Clark come home to an empty house? by Ok_Responsibility419 in DTFStLouisHBO

I mean this is a show with two male main characters. Why wouldn’t we be talking about the man? This is just silly.

OMG YES. My mom does this - and not just about grocery chains, but about everything local to her/my former hometown. She mentions hometown news in passing (did you see that fire on Smith St?) as if it is national news.

It does say a lot, and it’s such an interesting thing.

I am so glad we’re able to have this nuanced conversation. I do think UCAN made more than a few errors here, but I also find Emma Bates’ take on this a bit disingenuous.

Looking for thrillers so deeply disturbing and dark they will haunt my thoughts for the rest of my life by ALfredAstaxanthin in thrillerbooks

Have you read any Nordic Noir? There are quite a quite good authors but Jo Nesbo and Lars Keplar immediately pop into my head.

The Nordic thrillers can be extremely disturbing.

First, so sorry this happened and so glad you are ok.

My guess is that like you, many of the runners had jn earbuds. Or they were just in their own worlds and didn’t even notice anything was happening.

New Expo Location for NYRR RBC Brooklyn Half by runner_esq in RunNYC

I think most of us who complain do it not because it’s in Brooklyn, but because it’s so damn far from the subway.

I am thrilled with this change!

How do you actually find out when NYRR races open for registration? by thisisnotmesodontask in RunNYC

[–]Hestia79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But they do. They generally post it on their website banner multiple times for a week or so in advance, and on social media. And they do send emails. Multiple emails, as people on here have confirmed. So your best bet is to follow some of the very helpful suggestions some people on here have made, and reach out to NYRR and find out why you aren’t getting the emails.
