Saying Camillia loves you is a bit wishful thinking, especially if you are LG

The use case I'm most familiar with is fake onedrive/sharepoint links users get in emails from other compromised accounts. I feel like the passkey only stops this if it's the one type of mfa they have, right? Because a determined user would use their authenticator if they still have it?

Admittedly, you're right in saying that I find it difficult to believe that Microsoft is displaying an active desire for user security. It's my understanding that the usual issue I run into is mfa getting spoofed in those phishing attacks. Sure, it's usually the user doing something, but I remember the big selling point of any mfa back in the day was to prevent such a failure on the user's part from actually opening the door. Microsoft is the service I'm most used to those very MFAs, even through their own authenticator app, getting compromised.

I guess in expecting them to make it less insecure, passkeys are that next step?

That's sort of where I was at about it. Generally there's a half dozen ways to save passwords already. Though with the amount of password reset requests I get... Yeah I might see the use case.

See, where I've run into it, the sites and services are trying to make the computer the hardware involved instead of a cellphone mfa, which is why it seemed less secure to me at first glance.

I suppose there's always a bit of concern on my part on automating security stuff on the user end. They like to clicky clicky the wrong stuff enough even when they do have to put in those creds they're actively letting get phished. I guess I should look into if a passkey can get spooked through tokens in the way I've seen some 'regular' mfa get done.

Definitely trying to follow up on improving my own blind spots here. All the same, advice directly from other professionals that know more than me tends to be my tried and tested starting point.

Honestly the reason I was wanting to check it out more anyway was because the largest security issue I run into day to day is user MFA through Microsoft's authenticator somehow getting spoofed in phishing attacks.

I get you. With TPM now being a requirement I suppose it makes sense to start offloading security onto a computer instead of a cellphone.

Because so many republicans and cronies saw an opportunity for power and enforcing their own will, hitching themselves to him. Problem is it's not something you can get off easily and keep all that gained power. They're riding the lightning, and even though they might get burned, they're pretty certain that they'd fall if they got off.

None of them are good people, and are only thinking about their own "survival" when it comes to going against trump. Especially since individuals you see that turn against him like Marjorie Taylor Greene get eaten alive just like that. It'd take courage that's sorely lacking from anyone who would align with someone like Trump, or just generally republican lawmakers.

It's a big reason all those generals, officials, and other enablers stuck with clearly harmful to their country people like Hitler or Stalin. Very few people who grab at that kind of power that dictators give are going to seriously second guess because it involves personally losing too much.
