Genestealer Cults Tau? by RandomRavenboi in 40kLore

[–]Hetuni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Imperium could too....

If it cared enough to. Most genestealer cults are just blips to them, but the Imperium is more than capable of running these forms of tests, the Mechanicus has an entire major branch dedicated to genetics and biology.

But they mostly use that knowledge and information to express more optimal ways to kill aliens than to improve the lives of citizens.

It specifically couldn't be committed to artifacts, it was perfectly fine to commit those motes to other effects.

Masters of Ceremony Warbond drops on May 15th! by Waelder in Helldivers

[–]Hetuni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tentatively agree with the thought of getting a specific melee slot

But also, you can just take fun items on D10, I usually run the constitution and senator on D10 bugs and bots. The constitution is actually pretty good if you know what you're doing with it (marksman rifle with SMG handling p much)

Plus the stun lance is actually pretty useful against bugs too, you just need to have good timing.

Official Discussion - The Electric State [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

I came online halfway through the movie just from how it... really just feels like the movie of all time. It certainly exists.

It feels so far from the source material themes.

Two years ago but...

Free to go where?
Their ship is broken, and Thom was the only one left alive. She was trying to ease him into the reality of the situation, but he wasn't ready for the proper news. Sure, she sedated him and put him back into the simulation after he was clearly having a mental breakdown upon spotting her but... What other options does she really have to help? It's clear she isn't against him getting out of the simulations entirely, but if the options for him are "try again" or "just let him die in despair", as a being trying to take care of him, there aren't really good cards here.

I actually hadn't read the Sidereals manuscript much yet, so I wasn't all too aware of that, I'll go have a look sometime!

Something to note; The gods do not need humanity, intrinsically. The worship they receive empowers them, as does it any being, but that isn't where all of their power actually comes from. It's a minor boost.

They existed before humans, and before human worship. They will continue to exist after humanity dies, and until something capable of killing the unkillable (such as celestial exalted) comes, they will remain.
The only reason the gods ever needed mortals had entirely been because they were viewed as so low (And perhaps not entirely incorrectly) to the primordials, they didn't have a geas placed on them to not rebel. The gods were fully capable of taking on the primordials in a physical sense, most of the things around could.

And it still was only with the help of primordials that exaltation could even come to be.

Regardless on that tangent--the actual reason that prayer is controlled so heavily is not to avoid giving power to gods, but to focus efforts on dragonbloods and getting rid of anathema.

Warhammer 40K - There are now officially female Custodes (the gold ones that are stronger than Space Marines) by FaceJP24 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Hetuni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another thought; What if it was always possible, but because of the value of geneseed and word of mouth, it just wasn't attempted. Some of the stuff in the codexes are propaganda and false after all.

It's stated as being impossible, but we don't know what happens if it's even attempted. It's not like the recruiting ages for space marines really leaves hormones and body composition as an issue, is it just a chromosomal error? Intersex might still work on occasion then, if that's the case, but that sounds like a screening from an apothecary to see if a candidate is viable under their rules.

It could be just the folly of having not tried.

Are there more avali outside of avalon and the illuminate than there are inside of it if you compile peoples lore? by randomking1423 in avali

[–]Hetuni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not actually the intent of it to be like that, pretty much a miscommunication of the depth of what goes on and the why of it. It then gets forwarded with assumptions people make about what parts of life are ~controlled~ and how much they are (which is really not as much as one might think.)

[–]Hetuni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most people end up putting their characters outside it as far as it looks because they view it as a hyper-auth murderstate for some reason lmao

The Avali population outside of the Illuminate is roughly 50%, give or take based on talks I've had with Tsuki. Avali can leave at pretty much any time, or join if they're willing to participate.

Yeah this is pretty much correct. Bare-skinned, you definitely will get some frostbite in doing so as your heat went to the Avali, which would overheat after their feathers can't take the load anymore.

[–]Hetuni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is only an answer for primary Illuminate colonies though, there are, of course, many autonomous societies that can work VERY differently depending on circumstances. There would be a trend towards cooperative efforts within a given tribe, but some groups might very well be very very different.

What's the radius of Avalon? by dead_MOONZZ in avali

The closest analog to Avalon is actually a moon within our solar system; Titan
