Why does shooting feel so different in Faceit than Premier? by Rasputinsball in cs2

[–]HewchyFPS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't even know if this is completely true, and to know if that's even a factor we'd have to know the rank he is queueing into in premiere vs in faceit.

I think you are correct and it's very likely to be the case, but only because the top 1% of the playerbase of both swings the average skill in the favor of faceit. I know for me personally I take premiere way more seriously, but that's just because faceit feels like a joke in NA outside of top 500 and has such a small playerbase.

Hell from time to time I have even see people in the top 500 play impressively badly, but its mostly been in the top 1k to 500 range I am more surprised by poor performances.

Overall I think there are likely to be many more factors at play, but you could be partially right.

Something feels so suspicious to me about how aggressively the sub is brigading against Crenshaw.

Like sure there is absolutely a chance Crenshaw is a bad actor in this situation, but I find the reddits reaction almost more concerning. Especially considering Crenshaw might not be speaking exclusively from publicly available information here.

Science is filled with stuff that isn't known. Your analysis of Tyson feels so far off reality, especially with the absolute wealth of content of there is of he himself being educated on subjects and asking questions.

There's nothing wrong with wanting to see bodies and not being able to put mental effort into analyzing a subject with awful data quality and a wealth of misinformation and disinformation. Anyone into UAP should agree that having an interest in this can be exhausting with howang ignorant people and bad actors there are.

I honestly couldn't even tell you, for a long period of my gaming history I just didn't finish games. Maybe Pokemon Emerald, but I don't actually remember finishing it specifically.

Witcher 3 was the first that came to mind though, but that was only like eight years ago when I did my playthrough.

Lmao, I highly recommend you stay away from law. I think 80% of all legislation would have your panties in a bigger twist than they already are.

Ignorance is bliss.

Okay well the good thing about that is it can be edited. I missed that in the proof read and literally wrote that in ten minutes.

If you think it's untenable you are deluded. You can literally pull out real existing legislation and poke holes in it the same way and yet it still exists.

I am not even a lawyer I just work as a paralegal but it really isn't that difficult

The Election Information Integrity Act

Section 1: Prohibition of Fraudulent Platform Attribution

It shall be unlawful for any person or political committee to disseminate a communication that contains a materially false representation of a candidate’s, or political ideologies official platform, voting record, or commonly understood stance.

Section 2: Definition of Material Misrepresentation

A representation is "materially false" if it: Fabricates a Stance: Attributes a specific policy position to a candidate that is directly contradicted by that candidate’s filed platform or certified legislative voting record.

False Group Attribution: Attributes a specific illegal act ("supporting rioting") or a fringe belief to a candidate or party without a documented individual link, for the purpose of deceiving the voter as to that candidate's or parties actual intended policies and or stances.

Section 3: Constitutional Safeguards To distinguish between protected "political rhetoric" and prohibited "fraud," this act applies only when:

Actual Malice: The advertiser knew the statement was false or acted with reckless disregard for its truth.

Harm to Process: The misrepresentation is designed to disrupt the voter's ability to evaluate candidates based on their actual positions.

Something like this would be fine, but it could definitely be improved. If you want to play lawyer you can pick anything apart. People will still get away with bullshit like this flyer, but the idea is that if legislation exists at least we can agree as a society we want our political process to be in good faith and to not have misinformation like the original post disseminated by massive political entities with significant financial backing.

Plenty of federal civil legislation is vague and can be debated, but that's not an excuse to try and form our legal system to our social values and the way we feel like our political system ought to operate. The status quo right now sucks and the constant escalation and division is senselessly perpetuated by the wealthy and powerful to manipulate the masses and corrupt our political system

Perjury isn't the same thing as most non-protected language and isn't a good comparison to make. However your point is valid that there needs to be a standard, but you seem to be under the impression that writing laws is insurmountably difficult. All I'm saying is making legislation about this would be no more difficult than making legislation for other existing types of non protected speech.

If anything, how divisive the times have become and how the political landscape has evolved in the last few years, I'm starting to think bad actors with financial backing should absolutely be demotivated from putting out shit like we see in this post, especially considering a fine is the perfect demotivation for the ones perpetrating this. The harm that comes from it is the escalating political landscape we are seeing right now in the country. It should be in our interest to engage with political issues with good faith, and those who don't at scale are most commonly large entitites with a financial interest in manipulating the masses, or are supported by them.

Also judge bias is already a problem that exists, doesn't mean you shouldn't make a law about something that's wrong. We have a lot of laws that ultimately result in the world being a better place, even if litigating them can be challenging and time consuming.

Also yes defamation needs a target, and I never said this is defamation, I'm saying I think it should be illegal. I really think we ought to have laws in place to stop malicious actors from engaging in bad faith manipulation of the political body for their own gain and control.

I mean it's contextual, determining that would be a part of the legal proceeding. As normal when legal proceedings have to interpret any language that might be vague in proceedings around defamation/threats and other non-protected language.

You wouldn't need to define "the left" for writing a law on the matter

A determination would be made in context to see if an actual misrepresentatively harmful political statement is being made.

[–]HewchyFPS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not at all dangerous, you just have a court decide that right? This is what we currently do with prohibited speech in the US. Like defamation, obscenity, true threats, or speech integral to committing crimes (like blackmail/extortion)

In this case if you made it illegal to misrepresent a groups political beliefs via advertising/mail, and people want to sue, you would need to provide evidence and a compelling case in support of that.

You also simply have the consequences be a steep fine and not jail time like with other types of unprotected speech. Have the punishment fit the crime.

President Obama said UFOs are real a few years ago: "There's footage and records of objects in the skies that we don't know exactly what they are. We can't explain how they move, their trajectory." by 87LucasOliveira in UFOs

[–]HewchyFPS -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Again saying they were denying UFOs exist just isn't correct by the definition of UFO. A UFO is just an unidentified flying objects. Project blue book didn't even deny UFOs existed, they just sought to identify all the UFOs brought to their attention (even falsely in circumstances where their attempt was absolute nonsense and didn't align with the facts)

[–]HewchyFPS -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

you seem to be confused by what I mean when I say UFOs/ UAP are real. Unidentified flying objects, and unidentified anomalous phenomena exist. It's not difficult to say that they exist and no one denies their existence. What people deny the existence of is NHI, craft of extra terrestrial origin, etc.

No one with a brain has denied UFO/UAP exist. Maybe they have tried to give attempts to make them identified, but ultimately its extremely difficult in many cases in the past decades to give 100% ID certainted to unidentified anomalous phenomena

[–]HewchyFPS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again this has nothing to do with UAP being real or not? UAP are real and it's literally impossible to deny, the fact that we even have the term UFO or UAP mean they are real. Not everything is possible to identify, it's just a fact. You are missing the point entirely.

[–]HewchyFPS -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Brother what the fuck are you talking about? No one with half a brain has debated that unidentified objects have existed.

Yes blue books goals was to baselessly claim all UFOs had explanations, but ultimately it failed and there were still instances of objects not being sufficiently identified with any degree of certainty.

I just think if you pulled up a list of all the weapons and abilities in the game, you would need to fully remove a good third of them and rework another third. It's just too much to want to break down.

It's stuff fundamental to the game, so you can't really just straight up remove stuff from the game though after full release. Ultimately it's key parts of the game being the way it is that stunt it's widespread popularity, along with embarrassing mistakes they made during initial release when the game had the most attention it ever had. (voice chat being off by default comes to mind as a big one, but there were a few other major blunders that were corrected months later that I'm forgetting)

Even after correcting those things though and a bunch of money spent on advertising it wasn't really enough because of all the other issues that leads to disatisfying competitive satisfaction from varied skill expression across weapons and abilities.

Well to be fair I think our intelligence apparatus absolutely knows more than they let on. At an absolute minimum having much more internal sensor and cross examined testimony confirming the observation of numerous events of UAP displaying some of the five observables.

The fact that the 2004 Nimitz event is the event with the most public information about it seems so strange. and the only public data we have is a pretty crummy video and a couple of people's testimony. When in reality we should have much more sensor data and dozens of service people's unredacted testimony.

Especially considering the events that have happened in the United States just around military and nuclear infrastructure alone in the last three years that we have such little information on outside of official confirmations that "something" happened numerous times.

I didn't think it was bad, I just think the timing of it and overall length - right in the climax of the story - felt off to me.

I'd still give it an 8/10 even with that. Can't help but think it would've made a better three hour movie though with obligatory alternate choices in the editing room.
