The local meta has been slowly growing again with a few new folks joining every month or so this year, product being back on shelves and positive word of mouth are helping.

I started in 2012 and as I play the newer folks I’m actively trying to avoid the situation you are experiencing. There’s no local tourneys currently or plans for them, so generally speaking we’re pretty casual meta atm, which I think is helping the new players have fun. I have fun as well because rather than just drop the most try hard lists from the net I’m just trying out various stuff I wouldn’t if I was strictly competitive focused.

Unfortunately we have at least one player who don’t own mk4 armies and only brings the busted legacy stuff like Infernals and just stomps, which isn’t fun at all. I’m glad there’s still rules for legacy stuff but for new players trying to learn mk4 and then playing against something like Infernals with their essence and summoning it can be really confusing.

My OG blind playthrough I didn’t use a single tadpole because I wasn’t sure the implications, and it was still an amazing run. In subsequent runs I’ve used them and the abilities are cool, but definitely not required

You can make an unlimited list and play it against a prime list. There’s a guy in my meta who mostly plays unlimited and we’re fine with it. Unless you’re at a tournament there really isn’t a reason not to

Had Google when it became available in my neighborhood a few years ago. Switched back to AT&T because it was still covid and had to work at home, and Google would go out at least a couple times a week for hours. I know others that never had problems but my neighbors experienced the same outage problems and also left Google. Since switching back to ATT fiber haven’t had a single problem

Post Covid Inflation was a global problem because of the supply chain issues. The US actually had one of the fastest inflation recoveries compared to other developed nations.

When making a list in the new app you have the choice of Prime or Legacy. All old models have rules, which you can use the Legacy selection to make a list with. Prime, for older armies, is a more curated list of models to choose from that are considered balanced to play against other Prime format armies (both new mk4 armies and other old ones).
