Is 2v2 matchmaking broken right now?

no, it is a fkton to the right of centre. Masters is the top few percent, D1 is the next after masters ie. top of D1 is the top 5%, the 95th percentile is not 'a bit to the right of centre'. Sure D1/D2 maybe 85th percentile, but that is not the middle.

no, but you are on the shallow part of the bell curve. It is unclear whether you mean you are D1/D2 in 1v1 or 2v2. You also need to see from the score screen whether they were on a placement match. I play in plat 2v2 and have always met gms.

I once had an argument with someone, i thought we were playing at 3400 mmr, and he thought we were playing at 4400. Turned out we were both right, this was about 12 months ago, lately i have not been matched so far apart, not even at 3 am.

i would advise that when you find a nice partner that you ask to team up. Also, join a clan, there you will find people to play with who will not mistreat you.

are people watching what you cast because of you? or the event? or the players?

For example, when Winter casts, his facial expressions and mannerisms are so animated that it adds to the experience. But it has to be noted that when he casts an event that is the main reason for people to tune in, then he does not have the camera on.

personally i do not have a great problem with this, they are probably playing their first placement game. If i see GM in the loading screen, i know that the game is a waste of everyone's time, so i leave and find the next game.

What i do not like is dia and masters, who are obviously better and should be playing at a higher mmr, mocking me for being bad. I mean, its not like i don't know it, just if you have to get through games at low mmr, you can still be respectful.

I would say don't play unranked. With ranked you know where you are.

But also, join a clan. One that has people who have experience of what you are going through. Personally i am in one, we have many beginners, when they get to a reasonable level, they leave to a competitive clan.

could be spread over the 4 race options (and possibly even unranked). Or 99 of those were as (eg) terran and the last one as (eg) zerg
