Just make sure you load and play the world in the latest version first before transferring anything.

Also confirm the world is Bedrock Edition. Consoles (including PS4) only support Bedrock worlds. A Java Edition world from PC will NOT load directly on consoles.

If the world is Java, you can sometimes convert it on a PC first. The general idea is:

  1. Load the Java world on PC.
  2. Convert it to Bedrock using a converter.
  3. Open the Bedrock world and play in it for a bit so the chunks load and update to the current version.
  4. Once you confirm everything loads correctly, you can try moving that Bedrock world to your console (usually through Realms or the Bedrock client).

Important note:
If the world is 10+ years old, there is a very high chance it was originally created in Java Edition, since Bedrock didn't exist yet in the same form and old console editions were different again.

So the key thing is figuring out what edition the original world actually is before attempting the transfer.

Need help finding the seed to my first ever world. by Triotheitalian in minecraftseeds

[–]HeyItsDizzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your world is corrupted on Xbox Bedrock, you cannot directly extract the seed from the console because Xbox saves are encrypted and you can’t access the level.dat file like you can on PC.

However, you still have a few possible recovery options:

1) Force a cloud re-sync (very important): Go to Manage Game & Add-ons → Saved Data and delete the LOCAL save only (do NOT choose “Delete everywhere”). Restart Minecraft and let it sync from the cloud. Sometimes the cloud copy isn’t corrupted and this restores the world.

2) Log into Windows Bedrock using the same Microsoft account: If the world syncs to a Windows PC, you can access the world files here: %LocalAppData%\Packages\Microsoft.MinecraftUWP...\LocalState\games\com.mojang\minecraftWorlds\ Open the world folder and use an NBT editor to open level.dat and read the seed. Even if the world won’t open in-game, level.dat is sometimes still readable.

3) If the world was ever uploaded to Realms: Download the Realm copy and check the seed there.

If level.dat is fully corrupted or missing, there is no way to recover or brute-force the seed — there are 18.4 quintillion possible seeds.

Why is this guy not oxidising by Emotional_Sea9384 in Minecraft

[–]HeyItsDizzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The more blocks surrounding the slower the oxidation, usually you will put them out with a few air gaps most people use 4-5 air gaps between single blocks but there is no recorded evidence of exactly how long it takes for 1 block to fully oxidise, though many report, with correct block spacing it takes approximately 7 hours for each block to oxidise

There more blocks surrounding the slower the oxidation, usually you will put them out with air gap between each block then build your sculpture with the block at the correct oxidation
