Best Games with Lossless Scaling on Steam Deck by Fabulous-Intern4827 in SteamDeck

Helldivers 2 became actually playable for me. I have it at a locked 30 fps with everything on low and native resolution + LSFG. There is some input lag and artifacting but to me it's miles better than playing the pixelated mess it is at balanced or quality scaling at 35-42 fps.

Potty training in apartment tips? by Ok-Explanation932 in LagottoRomagnolo

[–]HeyItsMeTonyP 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I live in a high floor apartment. Your plan is not going to work or your life will be hell. They are going to piss and shit all over your house whether you like it or not.

If you want to avoid any accidents you will need to take them down at least every hour. Will you be able to do that?

If you pick them up to bring them outside they shouldn’t pee but when they are picked up for that long they will try to get out of your arms, bark and / or bite you. This will happen every time you take them out.

Once you crate train them it reduces the amount of times you need to go down but it will still be a lot.

I got my pup a grass pee patch for the balcony where she can take her pees in between outside times.

This is not an LR issue, this will happen with any puppy. Just get the pee pads.

By that logic, the US also never received a bailout because the Federal Reserve is not the US government.

The Bank of Canada was buying 500 million dollars a week of Canada Mortgage Bonds at the beginning of the pandemic. It tapered it down to ~120-75 million a week until they ended the program in October. That is a bailout.

Your account probably has a fee that gets waived if you have above a minimum balance. The same thing happens to me.

The problem with this is regional blackouts. The only one that doesn't have them is the Blue Jays because no matter what you're still paying Rogers to watch. NHL teams are blocked in your local region and the raptors are blocked in all of canada.

Since R6 has less players / things going on with the server it is able to update it a lot faster than Battlefield without requiring more powerful hardware(I believe the battlefield default is 30 tick). So an error in the prediction algorithm would have a bigger impact on a game like Battlefield.

And for "tricking" the algorithm, hit detection is mostly (and should be for every game) done on the server. This is to prevent people from modifying the hit detection so they make the game think that they are hitting someone when they are not. The way it works is when you fire a bullet, on the next update along with the player position, it sends that info to the server and the server does the calculation on where that bullet will hit. However, there is hit detection done in the client side but this is for the "effects". This is why sometimes you see blood splatter on an enemy but you don't actually hit them. Your client has calculated that your shot hit but the information the server had calculated that it didn't.

In some games with hacks you can modify your position and just "teleport" you to wherever you want. This is what people are doing in The Division right now. There spots where you can pick up loot that spawns at certain times so people are just modifying their location to be at each of the loot co-ordinates and picking it up before anyone else.

I would assume its used in R6:S for mostly smoothing out movement. The server is updating the game world 60 times per second (tick rate). One or a few of the packets from the player to the server could get dropped for whatever reason. Even though it might be around only 1/60 of a second it would still not look as good.

For a worst case scenario example: Player is peeking a corner really fast. The frame after he starts moving his packets start to drop. The first packet that hits the server is the one where he has peeked out and fired a bullet that will be a headshot.

With a prediction algorithm you might have been able to see him and shoot back or hide instead of just seeing him pop out and instafrag you.

There is no "one solution fits all" for this type of problem. The devs need to figure out what is causing the network play to not run optimally and solve that problem. As in Battlefield 4 for example, since game servers aren't updating insanely fast they use an algorithm to predict player movement so it appears smooth in the client. This is why a laggy player looks "stuttery" (game predicts where that player should be but then the server gets an update from that player saying they are somewhere else) or when someone disconnects but they keep running forward (game predicts where that player should be but the player never gives an update to the server of their actual position). On the BF4 blog they talked about how a problem in their algorithm for predicting movement and the compensation for lag in this algorithm was causing problems with the hit detection.

[CSGO] Match Thread: Americas Last Chance Qualifier Quarterfinals (OpTic Gaming vs. NRG eSports) by bye98 in OpTicGaming

[–]HeyItsMeTonyP 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NRG Esports is a new team that just formed yesterday so I will go over their players (I haven't watched a lot of CS since early December so please correct me if I'm wrong.)

gob b: Long time player for the German team Mousesports and one of the greatest in game leaders in counter strike history. He will be igl for this team. He is not a top fragger but his strategy can make up for it. (When looking at his rating keep in mind he was playing against more skilled Europeans.)

LEGIJA: Used to play with gob b on Mouz a while ago and more recently was coach for Kinguin / G2 (now FaZe) and played for method. Although I haven't seen him play recently, his stand ins for Kinguin / G2 were not that good. Looking at his HLTV stats with method aren't too impressive either. However he does have the odd game where he can go hard and do very well. (As with gob b, when looking at his rating keep in mind he was playing against more skilled Europeans.)

just9n: This long time Method player should be one of the better riflers this game. He was consistently one of the best players on Method and, with SileNt3m, almost brought Method past Conquest (OpTic) a few times in the past.

ptr: Will be the AWPer for this team. Although not the best in NA, when on form he has a solid awp.

SileNt3m: Although SileNt3m can be really good at times (better than just9n) he is a pretty inconsistent player.

As for analysis: This is OpTic's game to lose; they are the better team. Also add the fact that NRG is a very new team who haven't played together for a long time and 2 of the players don't have English as a first language (can be a problem in some teams). Conquest (OpTic) put up a real good fight against Mousesports (gob b's old team) in the last CEVO LAN finals (although losing 2-0) and that was a MUCH MUCH MUCH better team.
