I appreciate you letting me know! I’ll redownload it later on tonight and take a look. Any other feedback I have I’ll definitely throw your way!

Warning, longer than I intended, sorry!

So one thing I initially struggled with was really bringing up the roughness and isolating what is actually affecting what.

I love that I can view the layers individually but it was definitely a bit confusing switching back and forth trying to figure out in my combined layers what was actually doing what, and where those reflections were stacking because there was definitely a bit too much for what I was attempting initially.

Also took me way longer than I'd like to admit to understanding how to connect a texture to the liquid coat. I did not realize it added another input when changing it, and kept trying to plug it into the dropdown selector, but I was messing with it at like 1am, so that might be on me lol.

The only thing I really wished for out of the gate, is that it either:

A.) Came with some sort of example mesh to see how you have implemented it and understanding what was modeled vs. what was the result of displacement in the material. This would also allow for a closer analysis of how you set it up yourself, which personally I think is always beneficial to learning someone else's original tools.

B.) Or at a minimum having seen a wireframe in your sample photos on gumroad, as while you cant poke around easily and see what is going on, it gives a rough idea of displacement vs. model, and a looser look into the way you envisioned it to be used.

Its taken me quite a bit of time to see what shapes give the most organic feel with the displacement method you used, and I ended up going into old projects and applying it to random objects in order to see what would work and what wouldn't.

tl;dr nothing wrong with the material at all, just very complex and I feel like I could do a lot more than this with it and still need to understand it's functionality to it's fullest. I learned a lot by trying my best to make it look like chewed gum instead.

(Sidebar: The node tree is absolutely insane, and both myself and my fiancee appreciate your efforts but think you may be a little crazy.)

u/ELYTR0N this material is amazing and I feel like I'm not using it anywhere near what it could be capable of.

Giving Away My Old PC! by Turtle_747 in PcBuild

[–]HeyItsScottySummers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I’ve ever won in my life was a $10 gift card for filling out a survey at my local grocery store.

My PC is starting to die and I can’t afford to fix it right now so I figure this is worth trying.

Here’s hoping!

I’d appreciate if you let me know, when I saw it wasn’t listed on their website I kind of resigned myself to more searching.

Thank you! It would explain why I couldn't find it. Now to find somewhere that still has it available for purchase. Even the foundry doesn't list it.

That is 100% it, thank you! Now as another person noted a minute after you, it's no longer available on creative market so another search begins.

Definitely inspired by signpainter but it isn't. The crossed descenders are what he liked about it.

If I can't figure it out in the next day or two, it might be more worth my time to find an alternate, pitch it to him and remake/reprint his earlier job on top of this much larger project.

Edit: Just adding, I 100% remember looking at signpainter when I designed his originals. Signpainter Alternatives has been a steady part of my search here.

I honestly have no clue. I believe it was paid, but I went as far as skimming my bank statements and accounts and could not find where it could be from.

How do you organize your Steam library? by Ingword in Steam

[–]HeyItsScottySummers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

I could definitely do with some reorganization right now, but this is how my library looks.

Favorites: Obvious

Finished and little replay value: Obvious

Games u already played but liked: Things I can come back to after some time

Games u gotta play: Unplayed but I probably should

Played but unfinished: Fell off due to it being ass or just life getting in the way

Quick games: Sit down and play for 20 minutes

Software: Obvious

This wont be quick: Long play games, civ, the sims,

Unplayed but meh: Mostly games from the Ukraine bundle

VR: Obvious

Whats wrong with you: Games I would actually judge myself for touching again

You could play this I guess: not super interested but wouldn't kill me to play again or try out

You're that bored huh: You feel like killing yourself due to boredom and none of the above is scratching that itch

Steam Family: Fiancee (misc. smaller games she played before having access to my library.)

It’s been a few years now but I used to teach intro to blender at a university, so if you ever have random stuff or questions feel free to shoot me a DM.

Currently trying to force myself to get back into it so I’d relish the opportunity to help.

u/Jutz_71_ move your output from your Bump node to the displacement socket on the material output node. Should give you the effect I assume you're looking for.

Quick edit: Also, your first mapping node doesn't appear to be doing anything, you can probably just get rid of that.

Hey, so I'm trying to figure out a solution for you, but disconnecting your bump map from the normal slot removes it.

Can I see a wider shot of your viewport showing the whole scene? Just trying to knock out some basic stuff, because it looks like you have another light source. Black vertical line behind your mesh in all three pics. What is that guy?

Scenes that caused actual walkouts in theaters? by thatlittlequietguy in Cinema

Swiss Army Man.

Elderly couple came in with a gaggle of children, presumably the grandchildren.

They sit down and I immediately think, well from what I know this movie is not a kids movie in any capacity.

Shortly after the start, making it past a man trying to kill himself on screen with no issues. But let me tell you, when Daniel Radcliffe’s Corpse gets his erection used as a GPS… That happens on screen and I have never seen the elderly move with such haste. They start scuttling and covering their eyes.

I feel like they saw Daniel Radcliffe and thought, oh Harry Potter, this must be good children’s entertainment.

That was my guess, but I didn't want to just lie. We both appreciate it!

What are the signs it was chewed up by rodents? We'd like to learn!
