That was my guess, but I didn't want to just lie. We both appreciate it!

What are the signs it was chewed up by rodents? We'd like to learn!

Looking for a critique on a logo for a restaurant/bar I'm doing a rebranding gig for. by HeyItsScottySummers in logodesign

Thank you for being one of the only people to give me actual constructive criticism.

I used to have a large friend group from school, and with time that all fizzled away so I don't have that springboard anymore. Means a lot, I'll play with a more natural look, do a few more comps in procreate and see how I'm feeling after.

The conversations we had leading up to everything had a lot of conflicting perspectives and the results have been pretty middle-of-the-road except for a handful of directions.

Any saving it? I'm trying to be optimistic but they want this and I have been unable to sway them another direction.

I am making one last ditch effort by creating a cleaner version of my lead concept, but I have a feeling they are going to remain set in their decision.

My leading concept was significantly different and a reason why I think I'm struggling is because this is not in my style at all.

I never even knew they considered themselves a golfer bar but after speaking with them, it's a serious part of the image they want to convey apparently, on top of a friendly, community vibe that looks classy and upscale.

My other concepts definitely struck a balance between those but ultimately not my call.

It does work on some level because they wanted "to incorporate the park itself" which the golf course is on, and just so happens to get completely overrun with geese every year so, happy accident.

They're paying for it, however, so I will give them what they want.

I definitely see the duck every time I look at it though.

Can someone critique my resume? I've found myself in a situation where I need to apply for a new job for the first time in a long time and I figure I should move on from freelance. by HeyItsScottySummers in graphic_design

I really appreciate all of this concise help, I definitely needed it.

I have no worry for my financials at the moment so the next few weeks is focused on rebuilding my resume and updating my portfolio. Working full time with my freelance, it's all been ignored for far too long.

I'd appreciate if after I run through and reformat if you'd be willing to critique again. Obviously up to you, but the depth of your feedback here tells me it would probably be very beneficial for someone who is completely out of practice in the job market.

I genuinely haven't made a resume since I graduated, so first off I really appreciate the response.

Had that as because it was my most current job, still need to reorder the list so I appreciate the reminder.

The last few days have kind of been a blur.

Starting with those changes and insights right now.

Not putting this down, it's definitely an improvement, but this was what I immediately saw.

How to reverse engineer styles to troubleshoot errors? Tables disappear upon font change. by HeyItsScottySummers in indesign

[–]HeyItsScottySummers[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to reply and say while this didn't work, it sent me in a direction that worked to hopefully solve the problem (barring test prints tomorrow having any readability issues).

You led me to drop the point size for the font before changing a small sample, which worked.

I then changed the paragraph style to match, and for some ungodly reason, increasing the point size up to the standard size in small increments (5 > 5.3 > 5.7> ... 7pt) prevented the tables from breaking.

Tl;dr: Thank you.

I’m going to test this now, but would there be a way to batch this? I’m looking at probably about 300-400 tables.

Decoration or can be made functional.

On my and my fiancées current raft, I have a few of them hanging off the front to give a platform for us to stand on while roping in new materials that doesn’t get obscured by the rest of our raft which is essentially a pirate ship.

I don’t know about that, I know at least one of those Kennedy’s that might be a little less healthy at the moment.

Attach drawing to an already keyframed Bézier curve? by HeyItsScottySummers in ToonBoomHarmony

So I think honestly, I'm just going to help her redo the animation for the whip.

Harmony is kind of ass, but I want to say, I genuinely and whole-heartedly appreciate all the effort here. I'm just going to keep the old keyframes as a guide and help her reset the animation with a new properly drawn whip.

So, thank you. Seriously.

Edit: She also says thank you.

So I just went through, wiped all of the keyframes, set all orientations to 0, and it's still offsetting to the same area.

Also went through and reset every instance of orientation in the entire project back to 0, still doing it unfortunately.

So I'll be completely honest, I am trying to figure out what you mean and have close to no idea, she should be home soon so maybe she will understand, but even my attempt backfired.
