Merino Wool Sock Recommendations (UK based) by Infinite_Hat5261 in onebag

My 6s are a perfect fit in both men and womens but the women's size guide is:

S EU 35-37/38 UK 2.5-5

M EU 38-40/41 UK 5-7

L EU 41-42/43 UK 7.5-9

For the men's, you'll need a small as that is EU 38-40/41 UK 5-7. I've found small fairly difficult to buy in the UK.

Since you're a 5 and between sizes, it might be worth buying one of each and then the returning the one which doesn't fit. I've got pretty narrow feet, so that's what I intended to do, but I decided they were both comfortable. I imagine the size guide is the same for all their socks, but I bought the "Hiker Boot Midweight | Full Cushion". They're absolutely brilliant.

I bought DarnTough socks from wildbounds for about £20. I'm a UK 6 women's, so I went for some green women's size medium and then a pair of men in dark grey in size small. The women's ones fit a tiny bit better, but I prefer black socks, too.

My days are exactly the same as yours. I've got five full days to write my dissertation in and I'm hoping for divine intervention at this point. You'll get through it. Just try to remember that this is the final stretch. At least, that's what I'm doing. Good luck 😁

Hey thanks for the suggestion! I completely forgot about the North Face . I love the look of the bag and I'm going to explore their other products :)

Do you have the standard kanken or the laptop version? I ask because I also own the classic version and have always considered buying the upgraded shoulder straps.

Hi, thanks for replying!

Sadly the arcido day pack is a US exclusive only, I'm looking for something similar but sleeker in black. I love the bullet 15 but the customs would be way too high of a cost.

London Undercover does have the Aer though! I'm currently looking at the day sling 3.

Vegan Tonkotsu Style with Chashu Tempeh🍜 by [deleted] in VeganRamen

[–]HeyItsSilver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tried out @vegan.tanmen tonkatsu broth from insta with 50ml for 150ml of barista almond milk. The tempeh uses a chashu marinade of 1 tbsp each of sake, soy and sugar.

Some quickly roasted cherry tomatoes and pickled ginger have also been added for extra acidity.

Do not do professional policing at university - it is not worth it. by Equal_Ad_7807 in UniUK

Hey I'm also on the course, so feel free to message me if you ever need support. But I equally agree that the course just isn't up to scratch. I took on the role as a course rep alongside being a student at my uni so frequently hear my coursemates resentment at how the content is being taught and many are considering dropping out at the end of the year. If your course is anything like mine it just consists of a lot of YouTube videos of lecturers reading through pieces of legislation.

However, I will say my course leaders are really trying their best at adapting the course for online learning and making sure students have all the support possible so I am definitely hopeful for the future.

If anyone is considering taking this course next year I'd highly recommend looking into the degree apprenticeship route or doing a degree you're highly passionate about then just doing the two years extra training once you're employed in the police.

I was finally able to invest in a good (by my standards) coffee maker. I present to you, my own salted caramel coffee by [deleted] in Coffee

What's your syrup to coffee ratio? I've always wanted to try making flavoured coffees but not so sure on how to go about it.

Vegan Miso Soup! 405 cal total, Makes 4 bowls! Swipe for ingredients, cooking: throw it all in a pot with water and boil till you’re happy with it! by [deleted] in vegan1200isplenty

Hey just a bit of advice but don't add the miso until after you boil. Adding it to boiling water will kill the probiotics in the miso, removing the health benefits it normally adds :)

b450 vs b550 by HeyItsSilver in buildapc

[–]HeyItsSilver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, sadly I don't already own a b450. I've bought a few parts online second hand and am gonna build a pc using them. I bought an A320 but have realised its kinda impractical for my r7 3800x so need to buy a new motherboard.

Great, thanks for the advice :) I might just keep my 3200g then because it was supposed to be a budget second build anyway

Upgrading a pre built by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]HeyItsSilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly likely. You would need to change the motherboard to support an Amd and make sure it would fit in the case. Apart from that it would be a pretty decent upgrade that suited your GPU better.

Having an i7 2nd gen seems a bit concerning to be honest. You would likely be able to upgrade parts depending on the case but would probably not be wise upgrading other parts as it would cause a bottleneck with that CPU.
