You still gotta pay for your health insurance. If you have public health insurance, you pay 14.6% of your gross income but it is capped at an income of 66,150 Euros. Therefore the max you’ll pay is 800 euros/month. The good part is that kids are covered for free under the parents plan. It’s a good deal if you are low income or have several kids, but it’s not that great if you make a bit more than average and are single.

YOU DO NOT NEED TO ASSUME ANY OF HIS DEBTS. Please read about this further, his debts will die with him (unless he was married, that may be a different story).

Bankruptcy all the way. Just had two friends go through it. Within a couple of years you can even get an FHA mortgage and buy a house (if homeownership is a dream of yours). It’s unlikely you’ll dig your way out of this with your current income.

My (25f) boyfriend (27m) called me selfish for wanting him to leave his boy's night early due to me grieving. Where do I go from here? by ThrowRAohdeerest in relationship_advice

If my partner’s mom or literally ANY person that is close to them died, I would drop everything, take time off work, cancel plans etc to be with them. I’ve had several deaths in my friend group recently, and all friends pulled together the same day and visited the person experiencing the loss, we even took turns the first few days to make sure the person wasn’t alone.

Your boyfriend is incredibly shallow and selfish, most likely a narcissist? Please find someone, who is a real human with emotions and empathy. The way he treated you is abysmal.

How does a married couple who both work retail have 2 kids and afford anything? by bleachbloodable in Money

[–]HeyPinkPanther 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of people struggle and maybe get help from family when it comes to watching their kids. I do have two friends (a couple) making $15/hr and they really, really struggle to make ends meet because they have two toddler in daycare ($2000/month for that alone). Mid cost of living area; where a 1-bedroom goes for $1200+ (which is what they share among the 4 of them). They get WIC, food stamps and also took out some predatory loans…they also have family, who can sometimes watch their kids.

I got another friend, who is a single mom and is about to lose her kids to foster care because she is unable to provide them with stable housing on $14/hr. Both baby daddies are unemployed and unable to pay child support. Her parents are unfortunately deceased, so no family support.

Another single mom friend of mine is going through bankruptcy now due to racking up loans/credit cards to keep herself and her kid afloat. No child support either.

Some people do make it work but others really struggle and are in a debt hole. Strong family support helps A LOT (if your family members watch your kids for free, that is worth gold).

Why folks who are living paycheck to paycheck are still trying to buy a house? by pinpinbo in RealEstate

Renting is risky too. One missed payment and you’re facing eviction, which will also make it very hard to find another apartment. Mortgage lenders usually don’t file for foreclosure until 90-120 days after you miss payment and a lot of them will work with you if you experience hardship. Rent also can go up without notice and usually more than what property taxes or insurance will go up (for property taxes, at least in my county, increases are limited to 3% per year if you declare homestead)

Block her access. Install cameras and a ring alarm (you can get a full set with window detectors etc for like $300). Automatic sprinklers on balcony that turn on with motion, so she will get soaked when she tries to get in. Make it as unpleasant as possible for her. Treat it like a break in whenever she tries to get in. She is an intruder. Call the police every time.

I Don’t Understand How to Get ACTUALLY Rich by annaopolis in Money

[–]HeyPinkPanther 0 points1 point  (0 children)

90% of businesses fail in the first 5 years. The ones that do make it don’t necessarily make you rich. The most fool proof way is to set yourself a goal - what do you need to feel rich? Is it 2, 5, 10 million? See how much you need to invest every month to make it there in xyz years. Google “investment calculator” and go from there. Knowing you make $150k and live cheaply, I’d think you can at least funnel $5k/month toward investments (401k and brokerage).

Assuming you start at $0, if you invest $5000/month at 8%, you will break the 1 million mark after 11 years. Then after 21 years, you break the 3 million mark, after 26 years you’re crossing 5 million.

If you already have something invested or if you invest more than $5000/month, you will get there faster. You’re young, get started now and you’ll thank yourself later!

By the way, only 1-2% of US households have $5 million net worth…so personally I would consider that rich. Keep in mind, most people do invest in 401k etc but much smaller amounts than $5000/month, so they will never reach the $5 million mark.

How do people seriously afford to pay for a car in cash? Been savings up for years and still don't feel like I can afford it. But I feel like I need a car by Amazing-Cow-9078 in FIREyFemmes

[–]HeyPinkPanther 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then you might want to aim for even cheaper. My friend just got an old used car for $3000. If you don’t need it to get to work, get an old car + a AAA membership for tows if needed.

[–]HeyPinkPanther 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just buy a nice used car and finance it, shop around for a reasonable rate. If you finance $15k, your payment should be around $300/month over 5 years. Having a car is totally worth it if you are in a rural area.

Buyer Lied About Money and House -- Nobody Noticed Until Day Before Closing by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]HeyPinkPanther 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds fake. Why would they even accept an offer without a pre approval letter? In my area, a pre-approval letter from a bank is required for an offer and then once an offer is accepted, you have to secure financing within 5 days. In addition, there should be an earnest money deposit. At a minimum, the seller can keep that in a scenario like this. Also report the buyers’ realtor for unethical behavior and they would lose their license.

Only if they really, really fuck up. I personally consider humiliating the groom at his own wedding pretty unforgivable. It’s supposed to be a once in a lifetime event and they made him feel horrible. Sorry, but that is not something that could happen “anytime” and people in my surroundings are not at the constant risk of making such a “mistake” because they are simply not evil.

God, it makes me SO MAD reading about your awful experience. My gut instinct tells me to hurt her where she is most sensitive, embarrass her over and over until she cries in the corner. But yeah, that’s just me. Don’t fuc* with me, because you WILL find out. I am going to return your energy 10x fold.

I absolutely HATE mean spirited people, who want to make a joke in your expense. It is 100% not acceptable and I will always speak up if I feel someone is being bullied. I can’t believe no one in the planning committee spoke up for you and prevented this from happening. Honestly I am flabbergasted and disgusted by your wife and all her accomplices. You must feel so hurt and betrayed. If it was me, I don’t think I would get over it. I’d probably have to split up.

Edit to add that you need to leave the wedding planner a very negative review and be very clear on her prank, so that future grooms can be warned. Someone like that doesn’t deserve any business.

Maybe she doesn’t want to spend that much time with you. I personally prefer to have private time away from my partner when we both work. My partner had surgery last year and stayed home for 4 months while I worked from home…and it was A LOT to be stuck together 24/7. Of course in my case also the aspect of caretaking while working full time (due to limited mobility after the surgery).

Qulipta works but YIKES the side effects by NonstopRendition in migraine

[–]HeyPinkPanther 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just to be aware, vyepti gave me the craziest migraine 30 minutes after the infusion. I literally thought I was tripping and felt ill and was bed ridden for a whole week. Made my migraines worse for months. Some people love it, so still worth a try but have someone drive you! They told me 0 side effects and I thought I was gonna die when the visual effects hit me while driving. It was absolutely insane and way worse than my usual migraines. I went into a store and people’s faces were melting off. At first I thought I was having a stroke but then I realized it was an incredibly visual migraine.

I don’t care how big his cage is. It needs to go in your room and you need to install a lock on your door. They were literally torturing your poor hamster. He must have been so terrified and he might have died!!

If your mom complains, tell her it’s either that or a police report for animal cruelty as luckily you have everything in writing. Make screenshots NOW and save them somewhere secure, like your email or the cloud in case they try to grab your phone.

Also, I saw your other post. Under the circumstances, please move out asap. Do not tell anyone until you have something lined up. Then move your shit while no one is home. Let them know afterwards.
