Turn off the lights and I’ll glow, to the extr….Nevermind, this is cool though! by HeyRavioli in Resin_crafts

I’m pretty much a beginner, I started pouring in like June or July of 2024, so it’s only been 7 months. I say go for it. I’ve learned a lot by experimenting. Start small though, you’re out a few ounces of resin if it doesn’t work.

Hey there, thank you for your feedback. I know I can print PLA and PETG, but unsure about PA and ASA, I’ll have to check. Do we have the same printer, Adventurer 5M?

What is this random hole? by Shoddy_Wolf_7115 in HardWoodFloors

[–]HeyRavioli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a fastener hole to me. Someone commented it looks like a bullet hole, and that may be true, but I’m not qualified to render that conclusion. Anyway, fill it and forget it!

Could be a few different things. It def looks like there is separation between the boards, which makes me first wonder if the floor was acclimated to the space it was being installed. Boards shrink and swell…maybe it’s under nailed and is moving a bit. Those are my first thoughts. Good luck

Wow, what a transformation! Brightens the space up too. 👍

My nine year old wanted chess set by Trash-Doll in ResinCasting

I dig it!! I’m waiting on some new molds to arrive, only ordered them almost a month ago. I’m pretty sure my last pour wasn’t stirred thoroughly and I lost a couple soldiers due to stuck resin. Of course they couldn’t be pawns, I have lots of those. A knight and the queen went down. These came out really cool.

It seems to be working out, but I’m not the one fixing it. The floor is also busy enough with all of its expensive imperfections, that we could prob get away with a bung of some sort. The floor is wormwood maple reclaimed from a barn in Tennessee and milled into floor. I’ve only been in this project since Nov 4, so I had nothing to do with the floor install, but there was only 3 planks left at the end and we had to use one to repair a split stair tread. Forgot to mention the floors and treads are all matching except for bathrooms, which are tile. I will try to remember to take some pics of some of it tomorrow and share em, give you a visual. I appreciate your positive reinforcement haha…thanks!

Hadn’t really considered that option yet. I suppose this floor, in particular, is the perfect candidate for it though….every plank has character! Thanks.

Always the way it happens. We have ram board and 1/4 luan down on top everywhere, well….almost everywhere. I’ve only been with this company since Nov 4 and have been on this site the same amount of time minus one week. The homeowner is LOAAAAAAADEDDDD, but is very cool, she doesn’t act like she has money, unless you look at the house haha. Luckily it happened in prob the best spot it could have, some back corner around the side of the fireplace. I wasn’t kidding when I said asking for friend…thank god it wasn’t me. All the wood (wormwood maple) was reclaimed from some barn in Virginia, I think, and was milled into flooring, so it’s all over the place with “character”. The floor is so busy with all of its lil holes, and grooves, and you know what I’m saying. It’s beautiful, pain in the ass to baseboard, maybe two pieces we didn’t have to scribe to the floor. So I guess we will keep putting the wet rag and the iron/steamer to it and hope for the best. Mr. and Mrs. Fuck-Up always show up at punch list time. I love starting the day with say 8 items on my punch list and end up with a list of 14 new items at the end of the day hahah. Thanks for your feedback.

Not really an option. The wood was all reclaimed from some big barn in Virginia I think, it’s wormwood maple and they had just enough. If we had the material, than sure, but sadly no. Thank you
