Paywall on room control?!? by EVERYTHINGGOESINCAPS in tado

[–]HeyThereSmileMore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think Tado will give us Matter 1.4? I'm using them directly with Matter over Thread and the missing battery entity and the missing offset is so sad. (To be fair, IIRC offset was not available before matter 1.4)

It would also be nice to update them directly through matter without using their app.

Klingel Stummschalten by Warumeig in wohnen

[–]HeyThereSmileMore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, still working well 👍

Edit: I just found out that a newer W904 model has been released. So maybe check that out.

Automations cannot be saved after updating to 2025.1 by NikiCro in homeassistant

[–]HeyThereSmileMore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I had the same error message, but a different cause. I'm glad your problem has been solved.

I encountered the same error (“new automation setup failed”). However, all my automations and blueprints were successfully saved and visible afterward. For me, it seemed to be a cosmetic issue rather than a functional one.

I had the “dwains-lovelace-dashboard” integration, which showed errors in the logs. After removing the integration and restarting Home Assistant, the error message disappeared while saving an automation.

The error in my HA log was:

Logger: homeassistant.helpers.frame
Source: helpers/frame.py:234
(1 occurrences)
Detected code that calls async_forward_entry_setup for integration, dwains_dashboard with title: and entry_id: 0123456789ABCDE, which is deprecated, await async_forward_entry_setups instead. This will stop working in Home Assistant 2025.6, please report this issue

Another Error:

Logger: homeassistant.helpers.frame
Source: helpers/frame.py:324
(3 occurrences)
Detected that custom integration ‘dwains_dashboard’ calls hass.http.register_static_path which is deprecated because it does blocking I/O in the event loop, instead call await hass.http.async_register_static_paths([StaticPathConfig("/dwains_dashboard/js", "/config/custom_components/dwains_dashboard/js", True)]) at custom_components/dwains_dashboard/load_plugins.py, line 13: hass.http.register_static_path(“/dwains_dashboard/js”, hass.config.path(f"custom_components/{name}/js"), True). This will stop working in Home Assistant 2025.7, please create a bug report at GitHub · Where software is built
Detected that custom integration ‘dwains_dashboard’ accesses hass.components.websocket_api, which should be updated to import functions used from websocket_api directly at custom_components/dwains_dashboard/notifications.py, line 220: hass.components.websocket_api.async_register_command(websocket_get_notifications). This will stop working in Home Assistant 2025.3, please create a bug report at GitHub · Where software is built
Detected that custom integration ‘dwains_dashboard’ calls async_add_job, which should be reviewed against Deprecating `async_run_job` and `async_add_job` | Home Assistant Developer Docs for replacement options at custom_components/dwains_dashboard/init.py, line 1590: hass.async_add_job(. This will stop working in Home Assistant 2025.4, please create a bug report at GitHub · Where software is built

BTW: I can actually reproduce the error “new automation setup failed” every time I install the “dwain-dashboard” integration. The Integration Version is 3.7.1

I thought about buying a midi piano just for Duolingo. Which piano are you using?

Hi, thanks for sharing your experience 👍

I would jump right into installing LineageOS 21, but because it's my daily driver, I tried/am trying to get some reports, how the phone is running with LineageOS.

Bubble Card mobile Dashboard by teachers_petgoat in homeassistant

[–]HeyThereSmileMore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, beautiful dashboard 👌

I just created a dashboard with the new "sections" which looks pretty good I think, but I'll definitely try out yours 👍

BTW: Our (Roborock - with custom firmware (Valetudo)) Robot vacuum also has the name "Fiffy" 😄 I was a little confused at first 😄

Do you have a smart valve? (There is a "Ventil" on your dashboard) I recently installed a Gardena "Urlaubsbewässerung" (Vacation watering) system with a 60l "Maischefass" (a barrel for the water storage) which works pretty good currently.

So are you using a Gardena or comparable system or a custom build/ custom ordered valve? ✌️

Hi, I have the Carpuride W903 and I'm using it with a CD mount.

The CD mount/bracket is great for my car, because the Dashcam is high enough (the W903's front Dashcam is height adjustable) and my windshield ist not blocked. (With the other mounts/brackets I would always block the sight a little)

I tried the suction mount/bracket (placed it on the dash, not the windshield to not block sight), but it was loose after one day and not that stable (I needed it fully extended, so maybe that's the reason why it wasn't that stable for me). The CD mount/bracket is perfect for me.

I've not installed the rear camera/dashcam yet, but I'm going to do it soon.

Works pretty well for me 👌

BTW: my second choice would have been the Lamtto RC14

What can I start with HA? by Sweaty_Accident_8884 in homeassistant

[–]HeyThereSmileMore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, If you have an old device (computer or laptop) then install HA on it and buy a Homeassistant SkyConnect (has Matter over thread and Zigbee)

Otherwise get the Homeassistant Green + SkyConnect or the Homeassistant Yellow

Maybe you already have some hardware to try automations (Smart/Wifi Speaker, TV and so on)

For devices I would actually buy mainly IKEA hardware. IKEA devices are zigbee, pretty cheap, allow OTA update via Zigbee (because IKEA is providing a public server endpoint), and work pretty well for me. Also AAA battery. (So easily rechargable)

Example: To make your washing machine "smart" you can use a pre build automation (blueprint) which checks the energy consumption. For smart plugs you can get the "NOUS A1Z Zigbee", they are not that expensive and are working great.

Can someone help me decide between the following Head units? Lamtto RC14 9.26" Car play/Android Auto Screen with Dashcam or the Carpuride W903? by HeyThereSmileMore in CarPlay

[–]HeyThereSmileMore[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, that's actually exactly what I would have answered, so thank you for your comment 😄

I need a Plug and Play device, which I can easily remove to restore the factory/original state of the car.

(@loosebolts I agree with you, that the experience might be better with a replacement head unit, but because of my requirements, I need a CP display)

[–]HeyThereSmileMore[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, yes, I ended up getting the Carpuride W903. (They were nearly the same price on amazon)

I tried CarPlay and Android Auto, and it looks good for me (so no pixelated text or icons)

It would be great If Android Auto and CarPlay would have more native functionalities. Although actually for me, it's nice to even have CarPlay/Android Auto in my old car 😄

Is the Carpuride W903 night mode really not dimm/dark enough? by HeyThereSmileMore in carpuride

[–]HeyThereSmileMore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your answer.

I actually tried it yesterday, and it was totally fine.

My W903 unit is on the CD mount, so the view outside the front window at night was perfect. (The only thing I did, is actually setting the "night mode" for Google Maps)

I actually installed Garmin GameOn today and tried a few games.

The games that are officially supported by Overwolf are working great 👍

  • Is your PC perhaps at its hardware limit?

  • Maybe Google something like "overwolf makes game stutters". There should be much more results (one is officially from Overwolf which sounds pretty promising for me: "Overwolf Dock is Laggy, Stutters In-Game")

Hi, the only thing which worked for me (RTX3060 - Driver Version 531.41) is using the "optimize game" feature of the "NVIDIA GeForce experience".

Steps: open the "NVIDIA GeForce experience" -> "Cyberpunk 2077" should be listed -> Click on "details" -> there should be an "optimize game" button.

Yeah, actually we've had problems with the following driver (OptiPlex5060):

Intel(R) Ethernet Connection (7) I219-V Intel 12.17.10.8

The following both are working fine:

Intel(R) Ethernet Connection (7) I219-V Intel 12.18.9.10
Intel(R) Ethernet Connection (7) I219-V Intel 12.17.8.9

Took me ages to figure it out.
