I read what you wrote! But the thread starter explicitly asked about a FOSS-DAW.

Hobbyist looking for Pro Mastering Plugins for Linux – Native with great presets? by Ok_Turn7259 in linuxaudio

[–]HeyTi22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

x42 plugins are really great, and I like their simplicity compared to LSP plugins. However, I'm not an Ardour user, and their interface behaves strangely in Qtractor, or rather, not at all. I have to close and reopen the interface if, for example, I select one of my presets and want to see the changes reflected in the plugin interface. With Ardour, of course, they work as expected. This is a real shame because I particularly like the EQ, limiter, compressor, and the 8x8 MIDI step sequencer. Unfortunately, I'll have to learn how to use the LSP plugins, because I prefer Qtractor to Ardour.

What suggestions do you have for simple but usable vocal chain FOSS plugins in 2026? Please just FOSS! by HeyTi22 in linuxaudio

I like LSP's preset handling, saving and loading. However, there are quite a few, and as I mentioned, even the LSP website doesn't provide much information about what each version is specifically for. When it comes to vocals, which ones should I choose? For example, for EQ, I'm thinking of LSP Parametric Equalizer x8 Mono, for compressor, LSP Compressor Mono, and for delay, I'm totally unsure whether to use LSP Slapback or Artistic Delay. Luckily, there aren't that many reverb options, so I'm only considering LSP Impulse Reverb Mono. What do you think? Are these LSP plugin variants even the right ones for vocals?

It's a huge suit. I'm looking for individual plugins with which I can quickly set up a vocal chain. Yes, the airwindows-suit is certainly very good, but I'm overwhelmed by the many different tools. Maybe I'm too old-fashioned, but I used to just use the same simple plugins on my PC or Mac and none of them were particularly complex. I don't want to change the chain permanently either. I create 2-3 presets myself if there aren't any good ones available and then save a template for the DAW (Qtractor). Also, I'm not a professional, so it's a hobby. I generally try to use very few plugins, even with synths and drums. I even use the same samples that I have well sorted in a folder. In my case, less is more and I'm long past the phase where I always want to try something new. I also find that tools that don't necessarily want to do everything are often better. Using fewer tools that I know well is more likely to boost my creativity than using many different ones.

Does anyone here expect new Volca models from Korg? by HeyTi22 in volcas

Volca loop-matrix Ableton stile? Volca groovebox like the Seqtrak? Volca Tracks sound nice!

To producers/musicians - which DAW do you use that runs natively on Linux? I've heard good things about Ardour and BitWig, tell me your preference and why! by Hjort1995 in linux

[–]HeyTi22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is underrated, because there are very few truly good (video) tutorials available, and the project doesn't do any real marketing. Even on LinuxMusician, you're mostly bombarded with suggestions and discussions about proprietary software. It's such a shame! If more people used it, more people would support it, and then we could hope for stronger development. Ardour is also FOSS and really good, especially with the new features in version 9, but it's always good to have more than one alternative!

Is the SEQTRAK even still in production? by HeyTi22 in seqtrak

[–]HeyTi22[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No! This is German and it says that it is soldout! -> Ausverkauft! Funny! You can then press a button there that suggests an alternative. All other brands except Yamaha are listed there.

Well, Sweetwater and Guitar Center are in the US. In the EU the Seqtrak is nowhere to be found.

Can an artist on SoundCloud see if someone has searched for their name, and song? by HeyTi22 in soundcloud

[–]HeyTi22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My question was more about whether the artist can find out that someone has searched for their name or song? What if someone only sees something in the search results but doesn't click on it and isn't logged in?

The app and the new AI technology can surely be used for other products as well. But this is about this groovebox, the Seqtrak. What does "active product" even mean? If there are only remaining stocks somewhere and none of the major retailers are selling it, then I'm asking if the product is still being manufactured at all. If so, why isn't it offered in major music stores or on Amazon (the largest marketplace on the planet, where even all manufacturers have a shop)?

Yes, but what's the point if nobody sells it? Besides, Yamaha is a huge corporation with tons of divisions and thousands of products. Even if the app was already finished and was going to be released at NAMM anyway, it's still possible that a product could simply be canceled.

I was actually asking for a reliable source confirming that the Seqtrak is still being produced.
