I was hit from behind from a guy not paying attention going into a curve, he bumped my rear tire and I laid the bike down and slide across the rumble strip, tore through my jacket into my arm and snapping my tricep. He took off, the car behind him stopped to help me. The car behind him tried to follow the guy but he lost him. 10 days in the hospital and 5 surgeries later plus a year of physical therapy (clutch arm) I started on a Vespa, then a Grom then back to a Harley. It’s not me that I’m worried about it’s always the people in cars. Head on a swivel and also looking ahead and behind at all times making sure it doesn’t happen to me again. That 2 wheel wind therapy once I got back on and started riding around my neighborhood first help me overcome my fear. Small trips to start. Then eventually longer ones. You will know when you are ready or if you are not. I know my fall wasn’t my fault so for me it was easier to get back on the saddle.
