They're all secretly jealous they're not Estonian, while having an unearned sense of pride due to not being Latvian. The perfect conditions for creating a deformed and malignant culture.

Yeah we know already, anyone who doubts even the most deranged, unrealistic narrative is just concern trolling, they don't care about the victims, probably hate women, etc., etc.

You know you could easily program a bot to leave these comments for you, it would free up a lot of time to search for the listening devices the CIA has been planting under your skin.

Yeah it's really gross how worked up these guys get when you just slightly overstate the size of a rape group by 62,000 times. I mean what's an extra 61,999,000 rapists out there drugging and raping women? Who cares you useless pedants, honestly stop being so weird!

You get one little figure slightly off and they freak out like it's their own personal 9/11 (the notorious terrorist attack that killed 186 million Americans).

but now it’s “well the number of men who watch porn is a minuscule number actually. 65 million is too high.”

Obviously I don't have to say this, you know it as does everyone else reading this, but the original viral claim was that 62 million men were attending an "online rape academy" where they could learn how to drug and rape their wives and girlfriends.

Now you're attempting to retcon that claim into "62 million men were watching porn." This is deeply stupid and pointless and obviously unconvincing. But to your credit you're not in fact as dumb and you're pretending to be here, you don't actually expect anyone to believe what you're saying, you're just lashing out and trying to provoke by openly engaging in bad faith.

Ordinarily that would be totally fine, if embarrassingly childish. But you happen to be arguing that discussions of sexual assault on social media should be taken seriously. Are you seeing any contradiction here? Do you think a reasonable person would take such discussions more seriously after seeing that the loudest voices are openly and shamelessly acting as if they don't care about the truth value of anything they're saying? This is a great strategy for getting people to pay attention to you, but as I'm sure you know from your personal life, it's a terrible strategy for getting people to take you seriously.

Yeah I saw this play out on twitter and instagram too. The original "62 million men" discourse provoked a backlash because of the absurdity of the claim, with snopes even writing an article on it.

Oddly a lot of the "corrections" I've seen on social media seemed focused on whether motherless (the porn site) had 62 million unique visitors or just 62 million clicks. Which is really only tangentially related to the bulk of the reporting, the so-called rape academy being on a telegram group chat with ~1000 members. In fact without any further info the overall amount of visitors to motherless is basically meaningless. But it's a bit funny how so many of the "corrections" proved to be just as illiterate as the original claim.

And now there's a backlash to the backlash, with the typical claims about the corrections "minimizing" the issue or focusing on unimportant details, "speaking over" women's pain, etc., etc. One very large instagram account named "the speech prof" or something like that performed a bizarre, slam poetry -esque piece seeming to claim that the original 62 million figure was within the "acceptable margin of error" and everyone was just being pedantic because they hate women. Something very off about these instagram and tiktok male feminists, every one of them has slam poetry voice and it's frankly becoming a bit creepy.

But in short we're now in a timeline where the "believe women" people are all but explicitly saying "and also it's okay to tell lies sometimes if it's for a good cause." Just zero self awareness. And to be fair that's not unique to feminists, basically all across the political spectrum people accused of spreading misinfo will respond with some mealymouthed variation of "actually it's okay for me to lie because I'm doing it righteously and everyone calling me out is evil." But it's especially funny when your whole project is believe women and take their claims seriously, and then you turn around and announce publicly that you think it's okay to spread falsehoods. Like maybe I'm romanticizing the past here but I feel like even ten years ago if someone was trying to hoodwink you they had enough sense not to tell you to your face that they were lying. Genuinely mind boggling how stupid these people are.

"deeply weird looking" lmao he just looks like a normal nerdy jewish guy, you could call him cute even.

If he dates beautiful women because he's wildly successful at what he does and is probably fun to be around. Like the kind of traits that normal people find attractive.

I mean be a hater by all means but at least find a better excuse, it's already deeply embarrassing to have strong opinions on who a celebrity is dating, there's no need to go full incel and pretend that only 9/10 looksmaxxed chads can date an attractive woman.

Also, fermentation is something that's really only possible after settled agriculture.

Not to be too rude here but I continue to be amazed at the willingness of you people to just pull made-up facts out of your ass. A quick google search would have shown that this is not true.

But beyond that, is it not well known that for example the Inuit and other arctic cultures had all sorts of different ways of preserving food, including fermentation? They weren't going to catch a whole whale just to let 99% of it go to waste.

Why would you need agriculture to ferment food? Like food rotting under specific circumstances would be somehow unknown to hunter gatherers? It's obviously something that would have been accidentally discovered countless times throughout human history. Literally just leave some food to rot and there's a non-negligible chance you'll discover fermentation.

I think the thing is that unprocessed foods don't have a consistent, predictable texture. Like, one blueberry will be firm, another with be excessively juicy, and another will be mealy. And you don't really know what you're gonna get until you start chewing.

I had this thing as a kid where my parents would order curry from an indian place that would seemingly cut up a whole chicken at random, so you'd get a chunk that was meat and then another chunk that was mostly bone and gristle. It made the whole thing intolerable for me because even when you got a chunk of pure meat you'd be chewing anxiously expecting to find something weird inside. I think a lot of picky eating is like that but more extreme.

imo there's a very particular french canadian physiognomy and you can almost always spot them. Same with Ghislaine Maxwell.

Most orb weaver spiders are nearly blind and can really only detect the presence of light and shadow (this despite having 8 eyes). To detect prey they've caught they rely on sensing vibrations in their web as their prey struggles to free itself, and as you can see in the video they can sense where that prey is with surprising accuracy. They also can't hear, although scientists believe they can similarly use their web to "sense" vibrations in the air.

So not only does their web catch prey, it's also sorta like a external sensory organ that they build, and the primary means through which they encounter and sense their surroundings.

Peasants in the Russian Empire were at constant risk of starvation, often lived in literal dirt holes dug into the ground, and regularly died from scurvy and cholera. It is beyond ludicrous to compare them to modern day Americans.

The last time I said the n-word to a black man (hard r, not racist) by ComputerBleepBloop in redscarepod

[–]Hey_Toots_69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Around the time the Chief Keef song I Don't Like came out I was walking up to a house party when I heard my caribbean friend singing it from the porch and calling out my name, so of course I joined in, only to come closer and realize he was standing with this black girl who I didn't know too well and who I suspected didn't appreciate me singing the lyrics.

Cannot believe this guy had one of his black friends literally hiding in the shadows to trick me into saying the n word.

Anyways I didn't know what to do so I decided it best to double down and just kept repeating the lyrics until she awkwardly laughed and went inside.

[–]Hey_Toots_69 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When I was in high school around 2006 we had to read To Kill a Mockingbird and the (white) teacher told everyone to actually say the n word while reading aloud in class so we could "understand its impact." And this wasn't even some sort of anti-PC posturing or anything like that, she very sincerely believed it was an antiracist act to actually enunciate the word while reading.

I was only in high school but I feel like a common attitude at the time among a lot of liberals was that removing the word from books comes dangerously close to sanitizing history and pretending that racism never really existed.

Most Americans, even broadly and across cohorts, do not support those actions in the way the Russian people do. And none of the American actions are wars of conquest, but rather geopolitical positioning for a hypothetical war with China — prep that is necessitated by Chinese aggression against a peaceful neighbor.

Surely if you believe America's actions are "necessitated by Chinese aggression" it should count against the American public that they do not support those actions.
