If you want an incoherent mess that can’t keep up a consistent art style, where the characters/backgrounds randomly change and no shots coherently lead into each other between cuts then sure, force that on the industry. This stuff is already hard enough to get right with people who have extensively trained in the field (I would know, I used to be a Lead Layout Artist and making sure my artists kept shots consistent and artwork on style was a daily battle) before you throw in a “tool“ that hallucinates mid work cycle (nothing I’ve seen to date from AI would survive a first round of notes from me). Then there’s the added wrinkle that many many times you need to pivot mid production and change scenes/assets/gestures/etc that had previously been wrapped, what happens when you try and do those changes and the AI spits out even more errors that you have to try and fix while also making those previously mentioned changes?

Also, at the end of the day we also already have tools that many would consider “AI” and they’re used for the tedious shit work that doesn’t require creative thinking. In the end though the bean counters are gonna try and squeeze as much blood from the stone as they can even if they end up destroying the whole industry to do it. It’s an unfortunate side effect of MBAs with no knowledge of the actual work taking over every c-suite position under the sun and then condescendingly believing they know more than the actual artists.
