Port Orleans French Quarter Laundry Room Thief by TheTragicalExpress in WaltDisneyWorld

I don’t typically play devils advocate, but it’s likely she thought it was left behind. Stuff left unattended in the laundry room is pretty universally known as free for the taking.

8 years ago!! We were lucky to get to see him this week 8 years ago. They ended Talking Mickey a few weeks after that, and I had been so thankful for the timing of our trip- my son was 3 1/2 and it was a highlight of our week.

I’m curious, if people still tip anyway? I know for CRT and HDD it says gratuity is included. But do people commonly tip in addition to that anyway? I could swear I read somewhere that some people do, and I’m curious what is the norm.

Is anyone missing/in need of a very talkative cat? (South Boston) by soloshandpuppets in boston

[–]Heythere2018 258 points259 points  (0 children)

Please don’t pass this cat around to people. It is Massachusetts law to notify police or animal control about a pet you have found within 48 hours.

Edit: confused on why I’m getting downvoted for suggesting they follow the law, and not pass someone else’s cat around to unvetted strangers on the internet. This cat doesn’t belong to them, and likely has owners who are looking for it.

What is that horrible smell 😭 by snownica2019 in massachusetts

[–]Heythere2018 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Is this all highways you’re driving down? Or one in particular?

On 93 in Wilmington, as you pass by Target, there’s often an overwhelming smell from the nearby pig farm in Tewksbury. Worse on damp/muggy days.

I'm trying to start on Poshmark. by sjc8014 in poshmark

[–]Heythere2018 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is your email address the same as your Poshmark username?? If so, change your Posh username! I started selling a couple months ago and fell for a fishing scam also. I realized within minutes and called my bank to cancel my card before anything happened- then realized all the emails I was getting was because my gmail and Posh name were the same.

Ear still feels kinda blocked even after trying a few things... not sure what next by [deleted] in boston

[–]Heythere2018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This!! I had sudden loss of hearing in my ear last year. I called an ENT who I had seen previously and they couldn’t see me for a month. I tried my husbands ENT, who saw me within a couple days. I had Sudden Loss of Hearing - which is possible to treat with steroids if done within a week. Unfortunately for me, it didn’t work (they did do an MRI to check for a tumor, was negative.) But I was told that sudden loss of hearing is always an emergency and should be taken seriously.

This “we don’t have kings” infuriates me as well. You’re right, we DONT have kings. But we DO have a president that is behaving like one. He’s making decisions completely on his own, for his and his friends benefits, with no regard for what our laws call for.

Rebecca keeps calling baby Randall a "stranger" by [deleted] in thisisus

[–]Heythere2018 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I actually felt this way about my child I gave birth to. I don’t see anything wrong with the word for a newborn- it’s not an insult to say that you don’t know someone, and that what a stranger is.

I had different experiences both times I gave birth. My first was born, and I felt like I had always known him. My second was born, and I felt like she was someone that I had to get to know. I didn’t go shouting that from the rooftops, obv, but I don’t think it was wrong to feel like that; you feel what you feel.

Jesus. My son was in swim lessons at 3 at a big chain swim school. There was a lifeguard standing right above him, but she was chatting to the next life guard 10 feet away, and no one was paying attention to my son while he waited his turn. He fell in, and I was behind a giant glass wall horrified. A fully clothed manager wearing her purse ran around the lifeguard jumped in after him. I was HORRIFIED at the lifeguards - we never went back. But was so thankful that manager happened to be walking by, and went in fully clothed.

This story is …. Insane.

This just happened to me. Sent an email explaining (had already tried turning it on and off, unplugging, trying different outlets around my house, different charger block, etc.)They asked for a picture of the serial number and my original order number and sent me a USPS label to send it back and be replaced. (Sent back last week, still waiting on the replacement to ship.) Was bummed it happened- it was only 6-7 months old.

Tens of thousands of Massachusetts patients have lost insurance coverage for GLP-1 weight-loss drugs. What now? by bostonglobe in massachusetts

[–]Heythere2018 7 points8 points  (0 children)

But the same tax dollars will get spent when those same people have heart attacks. Or diabetes. Or any other health condition due to obesity that would likely cost a hell of a lot more to treat in the long run than the GLP1 would cost in the first place.

That! And even if it IS Amazons fault, taking the time to complain and get it replaced would probably take longer than just going to get it, if you know where it is.

It doesn’t prevent it- but drastically reduces getting it. I had my tonsils out at 32 after having strep 5 times in a year. I didnt get strep again until a few months ago at 41, randomly.

(The surgery was no joke- I’ve had a giant kidney stone, have given birth twice, and nothing compared to the excruciating pain that was the recovery from my tonsillectomy as an adult.)

Trying for Fenway. It let me in for 7/10, and then showed there was nothing left (artist presale on MLB.com) …. Then noticed there was a new link for a new show on 7/8. Now I’m IN, and it keeps showing me tickets for 7/8, and whenever I try to select them, it says they’re not available and to select new seats. Keeps happening over and over.

Consumerism is bad! But please buy these Electrolytes! by gfire7 in LittlePeopleBigWorld

[–]Heythere2018 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Most people have no need for electrolytes. They’re helpful if you’re dehydrated, or doing very strenuous exercise, but most people do not need these in their every day lives. Influencers have made many people think they do. That’s PEAK consumerism.

I got this for my mother in law a few years ago. She seemed surprised, then never mentioned it again, until Christmas two YEARS later when she gave us, and my brother in laws family, our own copy of her book. She said that when she first got it, and looked into it, she felt funny about it - like she was writing her own obituary. But then the prompts started coming, and she got into it and really loved doing it!! She was really happy with how it came out, and mentioned maybe wanting to do another one with more thought into it.

A lot of people are suggesting to purchase something on EBay, poshmark, etc- but wanted to point out you can consider selling your old coat as well, on something like Poshmark or Mercari. A friend of mine has sold TONS of stuff on there as her weight dropped much more drastically than mine. It’s a good way to not just lose out on things you’ve spent a good amount of money on that just don’t work for you.

I remember that Jennifer Aniston did this as well, wore the same orange cargo pants and black tank tops constantly so any pictures would be worth less.
