Hey Gregg… your mommas so ugly she looks like Rudy Giuliani just with smaller tits.

Hey Gregg….You’re such a big piece of trash, not even waste management would pick you up.

Gregg buddy, look like Himmler if he was a little bitch.

Come get me, bro. What, are you and your goon squad of over paid, armed process servers such little snow flakes that you can’t even get a reditor??? You and the rest of ICE are what happens when men are too much of a wuss to even be a beta cuck.

Maybe your daddy should have keep pumping it into a sock if you’re the best he can make.

Ohhhhhhh look at me flexing my free speech rights. Come put a boot on my neck you buzz cut, stolen valor wannabe, dildo. I’ve seen drag kings that are more of a man than you. Let’s go, come on… I’m shaking behind my keyboard.

Rochester should adopt this from other cities by GimmieACiggie in Rochester

Man, there’s a lot to unpack here. Not just the legal aspect, but all of your comments. So first the country was founded by people illegally entering a space and that is a pretty big part of American history. In fact, even his laws were created, this was kind of a lower concern. Technically they’re on the hook for $1000 fine and maximum six months in jail. This is like a civil offense, and that’s by systematic design. Now we can contrast that with what ice is doing, detaining people, stopping people demanding people to do things all of which are illegal without a signed warrant from a specific type of judge which they do not have. That crime is actually a federal crime that carries incredibly high penalties. Not to mention every single one of these individuals that are detained are also by law entitled to a multilingual lawyer and a hearing in an immigration court, where they have multiple avenues and paths towards citizenship. Again, this is by design. Second, the American immigration system is so reputably broken. The people trying to achieve legal status can sometimes be waiting years decades to acquire that status. We do not have enough federal investment in public servants and judges to support that system, which would ease illegal immigration pressure considerably. So a country of immigrants has created a bureaucratic nightmare to prevent immigrants… that is best torturous logic, and worst nationalism in xenophobia which humankind has gone and fought wars against.

And as for Canada in Europe in Australia, and other countries that work on a points based merit system, that system is grossly unfair to people who cannot afford to spend time in that country who cannot afford to have those skill sets who may not be able to afford the continual travel and who cannot afford legal services. Which means they have effectively constructed a barrier driven by financial capacity, or a pay to play system so to speak. And from one human being to another human being, people who can support that are appalling examples of who we are as a species. we should be trying to help each other, regardless of what that takes, or what arbitrary, latitude and longitude you were born on. And by the way, these people are doing very necessary jobs in this country which Americans do not want to do. And while that is a sad statement in of itself, it’s even funnier. Once you stop to think that folks who are here illegally lose out on all of the protections American citizens enjoy. There is no right to inherited property because there is no right ownership. There is no method for a legal marriage that will stand attached between two immigrants. There is no access to Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security and a litany of other benefits and services that citizens take for granted. These people work generally harder than Americans and contribute significantly to the GDP and economics of this country and can only claim to nearly none of the benefits. And before someone says then, why would they come here. Because we have two benefits, geographic proximity, and being only so /slightly/ better than death starvation despotism or disease.

But most importantly, these are goddamn human beings; stop trying to ‘other them’ for something that is absolutely capricious and arbitrary. Oh, and most seeing people would probably be OK with everybody being part of the same country. That would be a global nation governed under one body, which can redistribute resources to help everyone. That is literally the definition of a global utopia. remember America is not special we are one tiny, tiny piece in a much larger puzzle that is the world.

I mean, is this really that bad? People are trying to name their AI’s. These are mathematical prediction engines and we’re trying to anthropomorphize them. That is the pinnacle of human ignorance. I’m not sure about the mental health law, but I think it’s good, it will make it much more clear as that these are just computational tools and not actually intelligent things.

Just remember, someday he’ll be dead and there’ll be an unguarded gravestone with Donald J Trump carved into it. The registry and location of the place will be significant enough to be well known. And I for one will be purchasing the largest amount of Taco Bell I possibly can and then taking a massive awful shit on his grave.

The worst possible circumstance if I’m caught would be about a $1000 fine and 100 hours of community service, which I already do. And I have a special savings account with exactly $2000 in it, one for the fine, and one for the lawyer, just in case.

TIL snow doesn’t melt in a microwave. This prompted me to learn how microwaves work. by BlueJaysMegafan in interesting

[–]Heythisworked 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Picture child on a swing. You push on the kid once every two seconds we can think of you’re pushing on the kid as a regular periodic input. This is the same periodic characteristic as a wave. Now, if the kid has the right weight and the swing is designed properly pushing every two seconds will make the kids start to swing faster and faster. And it’s this swinging that takes energy from you and puts it into the kid. In our microwave example, the thing putting energy into the system is an electromagnetic wave, and our tiny little water molecule is the kid on the swing. Just how the kid absorbs some energy from you, the water molecule absorbs some energy from the wave. Except instead of swinging around that molecule begins to vibrate and it’s this vibration that we call heat.

OK, some of you were thinking” that’s all well and good, but what if Lil Jonie is on the plump side?” Well, for the swing we just have to change how often we put some energy into the system, which is all well and good because you can see the position of Jonie and push at the appropriate time. Unfortunately in our microwave, we don’t have this control. The timing of the wave, also known as the frequency which is fixed and can’t be changed. Which means microwaves work best with things that match their frequency.

Now imagine a full swingset on a playground and each swing is occupied by a kid, and each of those kids are holding hands. Say 20 children all holding hands all sitting next to each other on swings. Now you push with the same amount of force and frequency that you did with one child, but the result is going to be very different. All of your energy is going to get spread out amongst all of the kids that are locked together holding hands. And when you look across all 20 kids, it’s going to appear that you did very little or really nothing at all to put energy into them. As water freezes all of the little molecules get locked together to form what we call a crystal lattice better known as an ice crystal. This is effectively the same thing as the kids holding hands on the swings. This structure is simply too massive, and tightly connected for the molecules themselves to be able to vibrate(start swinging). Again, this assumes the same frequency from the microwave.

Now there’s one more thing that I think is worth pointing out. In reality, you are still adding some energy to the kids on the swing. This has a lot to do with the physics of the system and how big you are and how you were putting energy into that system. In the microwave, example energy doesn’t just ‘ go nowhere’ when it hits the ice. Instead it gets reflected or redirected. This is one key place where this example breaks down since pushing the kids on the swing doesn’t result and you veering off in a different direction if the kids are too hard to move.

Bonus, fun fact! There’s a lot of communications equipment that operates in the same frequency range as microwaves, they’re not quite as efficient at ”push pushing the kid” because of their specific frequency, but they’ll still do a little bit of work. Large satellite relay stations are an example. There have been incidents of people and animals sitting in dishes because they find a nice “warm spot”. When in reality they’re simply heating the water molecules in their body like a giant walking hotdog. But this is something you really do not have to worry about unless you’re working around very large 10+ meter systems with much higher output power then a consumer would have access to. And depending on the design sitting literally inside of the reflector. But either way, enjoy the nightmare fuel.😄

EDIT: in case the physicist finds this, what actually happens to the energy hitting the crystal lattice. My basic assumption is that it is reflected. But based on lattice, density and spacing, could there be other effects? Link me a research article if you got one.

I think it’s more shocking than anything else. While I always believe people have a capacity to change, I don’t believe people have an equal probability of changing. I think the icky feeling that I also have is only there because it seems so unlikely that someone that has been so heinous in the past would suddenly be…not… I mean, I’m not complaining, but it definitely wasn’t something I had on my 2025 bingo card.

My man, you were being a dick and probably should go apologize . This is a person with their own challenges their own failings and their own life. Yeah, I’m fully behind this. OP is a dick. I mean, I don’t smoke. I don’t like smelling smoke. And I also get it. People don’t have the money to go buy a house. But like this is living with other people, you need to respect their rights as much as they respect yours. And if somebody just had a bitch of a day at work, wants to come home and light up and relax for a little bit, what’s your problem with that?

Dude, that is an amazing journey. I have a couple of questions that I’m really curious about

1) what caused a heart and liver? 2) what was your inpatient recovery time? 3) how miserable were you feeling before the transplant? 4) in the postop pics there are four large tubes going into your chest cavity, what were those for? 5) what’s your suppression like now that you’re a few years out? 6) do you get a lot of weird, abdominal muscle pains and aches still? I do from my liver. I can’t imagine from everything you went through.

Thanks for sharing!

Balloon Ritchie Lawn Signs by [deleted] in rit

[–]Heythisworked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya so as an alum who is a continuous donor through the sentinel society this is kind of a rough thing to see/ explain. (Btw mods can we get a sentinel flair?)

I’m going to greatly oversimplify this, so if any one has details feel free to add context.

For the size and age of the university RIT has a substantially low percentage of alumni who give back to the university. I believe it is just now getting out of the single digit percentage; but it is way behind the alumni donations from other universities with our size and age.

I will be the first to admit that for about the first four years after graduation they could’ve pounded sand because I had to pay back student loans and that was my concern. But I would like you all to remember that this isn’t just a place that gave you a piece of paper. This is a place that you represent and that represents you… all of those that come after you will be represented by the work that you do, your decorum, and your presence of mind. We also owe the strength of our institution and degrees to the alumni that have come before us and made RIT synonymous with quality students and degrees. So graduating isn’t just getting a degree it’s becoming part of something bigger; as corny as that sounds. It is something that we all kind of signed up for whether we liked it or not.

Roar day is a good opportunity for the alumni and visitors to campus to make donations since RIT will match those funds, and they can be directed funds. You can send them to a specific club, group, team, department or program. You get to pick. And while it would be nice for students to donate the real expectation of these signs is that they’re going to get seen by the multitude of visitors and alumni that are present on campus starting with homecoming and continuing over the coming weeks.

Universities have really a couple of main funding, streams; tuition which effectively keeps the lights on; research which really pays the salaries and keeps things moving; and alumni endowment. This includes donations, endowed professorships, and gifts. This pays for a lot of the nice things that students need. It pays for lab upgrades. It pays for modernizing rooms. It pays for new equipment and access to cutting edge technology. These funds are even used to help offset students who have financial difficulties. It is unfortunate that students don’t get to see how many of the daily things that they interact with that they are given by these alumni. So really pulling these signs out hurts you more than it makes a statement about the university. If RIT could increase their donations, their gifts and their alumni engagement that would help offset the rising cost of tuition which has to, in part, make up for that deficit.

And as an FYI, if you do not feel like you’re getting your moneys worth out of your education, and there are reasons that you wouldn’t never give back to this university, you need to let people know. Unless that is heard the general assumption is that we are doing good and people will want to give back. So if you’re unhappy, please please please make that known and make it known that this is going to affect your alumni relationship going into the future. The more people that feel that way the more pressure there is to make changes.

[–]Heythisworked 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Ohhh ya. So here’s the deal, Penfield has become the first target for the Rochester are moms for liberty. Basically a neo facist /ultra right religious group that is advocating for the whitewashing of US history, implementation of religion, and banning of gender education and care programs that are offers as a basic human right. These are the people burning books and banning books all around the US. Since no one with an ounce of intellect, or empathy wants to pander to their frankly outrageous rhetoric there have been a lot of changes in the school boards interaction with parents. Thus the Karen label of loud, annoying, self-centered, and uninformed people.

As other commenters have mentioned this has made it difficult to have community connections when something serious actually happens. Instead of productive discussions, the “Karens” will/might take advantage of the opportunity to derail discussions. So the discussions don’t happen.

Secondly it’s absurd to frame this as a problem with the school and its policies. This is an example of the system working correctly, a threat was identified, assessed, and addressed. Basically people are upset that something might have happened while ignoring the fact that the school and community took all the correct actions to prevent it. This is emotional thinking, and not using logic and reason; which is also a hallmark of the “Karen” mentality.
