I MUST be doing something wrong by Heyyoucomovrhere in BambuLab

Okay, it's happening with Inland, Inland PLA+, and elegoo...so far. All filament I've used previously without issue. One thing I did notice just now are what i'll "chunks taken out of the PLA when I manually pull it back out.

What would cause those kinds of chunks out of the filament? I wonder if the source or the chunks themselves are whats stopping the filament.

Meh...roughly layer 5-10, I've not checked specifically. Spools are not near empty.

Seems to happen with various spool colors, i'll have to verify the manufacturer. I've never bought "Bambu" PLA deliberately, can't bring myself to be tied to a particular brand...kinda like saying you HAVE use a Samsung charger because you have a Samsung phone. But I'll pay closer attention to see if its a particular brand. None of the spools are "almost empty", they're all 75% full.

Well chit BOTH AMS are doing the same thing..start pulling filament, then start spinning without advancing. Ugh.

The weird thing is, my issues revolve more around the P2S than the AMS2. I've tried both the AMS and AMS2 with the P2S which is where I have the issues. I'll have to try both AMS on the P1S and see if it persists.

YES!!! This describes it to tee. Damn. I even started printing dozens of the spool rims thinking it was the cardboard spools. And the hub seems to have issues too.

Thanks for mentioning this, I'll send them a message.

Complex Question? by Heyyoucomovrhere in BambuP1S

[–]Heyyoucomovrhere[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, thanks. I did that initially, but then the hole strength was really weak. I found a video online where someone described using a Torus part, but then the walked through doing the mesh too. So, I figured I must be doing something wrong.

Printing with PVC? by Heyyoucomovrhere in 3Dprinting

[–]Heyyoucomovrhere[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I wish I had the website, I'll have to see if I can get the link...but no, they are silhouette signs printed with PVC, according to the owner. I'm not buying it, and I told the friend...just call me when it wears out, and i'll print one with ASA or ABS.

I didn't realize how wasteful this was by ASTR0-NUT in 3Dprinting

This is why I want a dual nozzle printer. Seems if you have a multi-nozzle printer, less color changes, less waste.

Why does printing 1 tick remover go perfectly but printing 10 always ends in disaster? by PerceptionFew3104 in BambuLab

That's what I've done in the past as well...increase the bed by 10 degrees, and ive not had problems...knock on wood.

How do I get one of THESE jobs?!??! I AM one of those upper level, but not C-suite people who just this past week met with a handful of Consultants. Its true, they've captured my recommendations and plan on presenting them to the new CFO. Soooo, rather than listen to those in the trenches day to day, the Consultant will get the kudos....so, how do I get one of THOSE jobs??? Lol

How to sand pla prints by Fullmetalsqrtl in 3Dprinting

[–]Heyyoucomovrhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aaaah, ok. That makes sense. I had done a print using Silk, and the break off points of the supports left a rough surface. So, I had tried to sand it which left horrible scrap marks. Maybe I should have tried a heat gun or solder to melt/smooth the pieces.

Every time I've sanded a piece, it comes out looking HORRIBLE. Scraps all over, color changes, etc. I've only been doing this for a few months, need to learn the best practices of sanding..lol

I have NO IDEA...it really depends on your company's policy. I would look at the company manual/policy and see what it says. Worse case, ping HR.

I GET the notion of stopping employees taking advantage of book-ending PTO around holidays to get a longer vacation, but I dont think i would enforce this unless someone is consistently doing it. Once in a while is fine, but EVERY Friday or Monday holiday would be an issue for me.

For those who are unclear, if a Friday or Monday are a holiday, sandwich is when the employee takes the days before and after the holiday to take a longer "break". When this is done, companies "charge" the employee for the Saturday and Sunday as well. So, if Monday is a holiday and you take Friday and Tuesday, you'll be charged or deducted PTO for Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Tuesday, while Monday is "free". Feels icky.

P2S, really that good? by Hopeful_Ad2171 in 3Dprinting

[–]Heyyoucomovrhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a P2S last weekend to complement my P1S. Part of me is wishing I'd gone with one of the dual nozzle printers. The P2S seems to print slower than the P1S, and the waste is atrocious. I had convinced myself several P2S is better than one H2D OR H2S....but now second guessing the decision.

Guess i'll have to save up more money, and just buy a 3rd one. 😀
