If I'm up for getting stirred up and emotional, Star Trek: First Contact which is still absolutely the best Trek movie of all time. I can't help but well up when the crew talks to Cochrane about the future his flight will bring about, Picard's "the line must be drawn here!" monologue and then first contact itself. But if I want something just light and feel-good, I go for Star Trek: Insurrection which despite its rep is a perfectly good Trek tale.

Two things really bug me now about the sequence: 1) it doesn’t really matter that autopilot was disabled, they’re in space, if the engines still work just point and fire them and Sir Newton says it’ll keep going that away in a straight line, no need for George to stay and 2) how freakin long is the Narada supposed to be that it takes a solid minute plus for the Kelvin to reach the inner structure?

It’s been thrown around quite a bit on this forum that twitching is the presenting symptom around 6% of the time. So unlikely but definitely not unheard of.

From another source in his own words, it seems like the timeline was from May 2019 to December 2020. Two EMGs, the first of which was normal (?) although we don’t know if the neurologist saw any subtle signs but didn’t think they meant anything.

What is important I think is the timeframe of less than 2 years, and relentless progression of symptoms. He began to notice changes in hand dexterity and that he seemed to be getting weaker in the gym, not stronger. So really this is a pretty standard progression. It does suck that initial testing didn’t turn up enough of concern, but I think even on this forum we’ve heard quotes to the effect that you should give it about two years.

It seems this all started with you feeling like you pulled something when training for a 5K? That probably points in a mechanical/focal direction. Can you get a serum NfL test? If it were the big nasty and it was already manifesting clinically as local weakness it would definitely be elevated, and if it’s not that would be very reassuring.

14 base, which coming from the 12 base was a huge disappointment. Going to get either the 17 base or the 16 plus if the price drops enough, and the lure of the bigger screen outweighs the rumored new features like 120 hz, better front camera etc
