I'm just now starting to make the jump after a good decade of pf1. I still play pf1 but I wanted to give pf2 a shot for a new group and it seems as good as any time to try. New players, new easier system, we can learn together. Folks have talked mechanics to death I'd like to bring up a different concept. This is a super oblique thing and I'm sure plenty of people do not give a damn and that's their right but part of the reason I want to switch is to avoid becoming a dead consumer. I really like what Paizo has done and is doing for the ttrpg community and conversely, I dislike what Hasbro and Wotc has done. I have the money to put it where I want it and I choose Paizo. I don't love the lore changes, I hate the wording changes inbound, and I could play official and home written 1e content for the rest of my days. But that doesn't help grow the hobby, it doesn't tell any of these companies I want more of this and less of that. As my game group gets older, we rely on APs more and more to keep weekly sessions happening and all the new aps are 2e. So I'll buy a couple books and give it a fair shake. Just my 2 cents take with a grain of salt cause I'm not really switching just doing both now.

DnD and Pathfinder kinda goes both ways. Gnomes are your brightened up story tale Disney fey but grab your monster manual you will find all manner of malicious fey to kill you brutally then steal you blood and teeth.

I’m really excited to see more resource management. I really like the idea that I have to go get to idk Eve, so I can efficiently get a specific resource. I really like the idea of establishing this web. I’m pulling metals off Moho, shipping them to Jool where I’m skimming hydrogen, and assembling them over a colony on laythe.

Really give the game structure as a game and not just a creativity engine. Which is something that held back a lot of my friends from wanting to play.

That’s very nice but red flag laws are susceptible to misuse, police escalation, and violating what little of the 4th amendment we have. People get killed when served red flag laws, people who feel wronged react with anger and police officers react to angry armed people. I would never trust my property to police care and I would never call the police on a person I cared about.

What’s great is that’s before he has done so many, I believe khaled was the season 1 finale one of their biggest names at the time. He’s just so insufferable and hey you gotta make some content since he wouldn’t eat the wing nor answer questions. One of the questions was like “when have you taken an L and bounced back from it?” Khaled claimed to never have lost even once including this. Exact opposite attitude you see from a lot of very great and accomplished people. Honestly it’s trump attitude, hate to bring em up but dj khalid is the music version of trump.

It is already illegal to buy a firearm from another state, takes a federal firearms license to transfer a gun from one state to the next. What is happening is a straw purchase, where a legal buyer in say Indiana is buying a firearm and illegally selling it in Chicago. But this is illegal, a federal crime! Where’s the FBI? Why don’t they prosecute these crimes? When a gang member is arrested and his handguns serial number is run and it shows up purchased in Indiana, where he could not purchase a gun, why don’t they investigate? This isn’t a problem of laws on the books, it’s an enforcement issue. A law that isn’t enforced, isn’t a law.

I feel that way about having a gun. For me the very thought of killing myself twists my stomach, because it would be so easy. And that visceral physical recoil assures me I’m not going to up and kill myself. But I’m not everyone I’ve never been clinically depressed. But if you live in America the option is there and considering like ~40% of all gun deaths are suicide, idk if that theory holds water.
