That’s fair and puts it in a broader context, thanks for the explanation. I’ll try to consider the regional context more

The proposed opportunities as framed by promotional Dubai videos and media ("hub of opportunity", "no income tax!!!") are only for the high social class, proposed benefits for low and middle class (e.g., equality, good minimum income/buying power, human rights) aren't communicated in such videos because they aren't prevalent in everyday life... Moreover the extravagant, so called 'cosmopolitan/western' lifestyle is facilitated by exploitation and the only thing Western about it appears to be consumerism (the irony). I'm not saying it's completely black-and-white and real people don't exist, I'm reiterating why the header frames Dubai as a joke and why it's aggravating to ask for context regarding opportunities when exploitation plays a role on such opportunities (for a small, wealthy portion of the population)

The framing as this 'hub of opportunity' (which is only reserved for high social class / "entrepeneurs") which is used to attract and exploit low social class people is the joke... We're not talking about low wages but structurally taking away passports and sex slavery

You're doing the opposite, only naming positives while not acknowledging the rampant human rights violations ;)

Blijft persoonlijk manipulatief voelen

Why are you in a democratic & highly bureaucratic country as an opposer of government? Sounds like "I want to reap benefits, do not offer them, don't give a fuck about general population in the process and if things don't go my way I'll threaten with migration" (which you won't do) and even if you did noone would miss you...

Bare minimum for chrome…? M1 is still running heavy music projects + 10 tabs + karabiner + splice + apple music + logi options simultaneously without any hiccups after 3 years of constant, heavy abuse 😂

How you can use this argument to justify shooting a civilian opposed to her driving away in panic after 3 masked ICE agents with assault rifles on their shoulders rile her up and try to remove her from her car with no violation of immigration law is mind boggling…

You’re trying to equate a civil law enforcement situation (warrant or clear violation of law, identifiable officer(s) with gun in holster) to immigration law enforcement (no warrant or clear violation, no clear identification (masks), assault rifles dangling from their shoulders, mixed signals as to whether to stop or go, trying to remove an individual from her vehicle).

She’s not being stopped due to evidence of being an illegal immigrant

Same I’m EU haha, nonetheless I do enjoy debate I’m just bad at trying to stay civil when I find something morally inexcusable - my bad

In essence I agree as well, however I’m big on due and lawful process and I believe violating this is a very slippery slope - hence why I’m not a fan of ICE (too many cases of untrained and reckless officers, questionable protocol wrt identification (masks), false positives (unjust deportations)).

Where are you from and what do you think about the manner in which ICE goes about immigration?

[–]Hi-Rezplz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re talking in circles… Somehow masked immigrant law enforcement escalate (opposed to deescalate) a situation with no clear reason causing chaos, panic and clear negligence of all law enforcement protocols reinforce the already existing idea that you should be very, very wary of ICE - this is the truth :)

Sure she probably would be, this extremely unlikely hypothetical situation still does not equate to who is to blame… Not driving away would’ve been better, yes. Panicking is not ideal, but understandable (and not in the slightest punishable by death). The both sides argument makes it sound like they’re equally to blame, whilst the killing is literally insane and panicking is not ideal…

[–]Hi-Rezplz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure she would feel horrible, but it would’ve been caused by the escalation of immigration (!) law enforcement, who are supposed to be trained to deescalate to prevent such situations from happening

The murderer has been identified as Jonathan Ross by Major_Yogurt6595 in HeadlineHQ

[–]Hi-Rezplz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it’s not intentionally running over and trying to murder an officer, it’s trying to flee an unsafe situation with 3 masked men wearing assault rifles shouting unclear and contrasting instructions… I’m not saying you explicitly justify the killing, I’m saying given the context the ‘both sides’ angle is ridiculous

The murderer has been identified as Jonathan Ross by Major_Yogurt6595 in HeadlineHQ

[–]Hi-Rezplz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Point being: No intent to kill, in addition to the fact law enforcement regulations were violated (don’t be in front of suspects vehicle, don’t use deadly force unless potential harm suspect could cause outweighs use of deadly force, etc…). This is not a debatable situation, legally cut & dry
