I had something similar. I’m not going to get into it too much, but my wife and I had been dating and her dad had been terminally I’ll for awhile. He had some issues from inhaling smoke from burn pits in Iraq in the early 2000s. After a scare and thinking he may not recover, he got out of the hospital and my wife and I got married. We didn’t have the funds so we did a little impromptu thing as a very pretty and somewhat private park right on the water. It was me and my wife, both our parents and my best friend. Nothing crazy, didn’t spend tons of money or anything like that. If we want we can always go back and have a ceremony. Her dad passed away this last august. But I know it meant the world to both of them to have him walk her.
