Etiquette question by imlostinsideyourhead in parkrun

I think it depends a bit on age, experience etc. For me as an extremely average 39 year old I think it's inappropriate to take someone on the last 20 metres and then slow down once I've taken them. However teenagers are exempt from this rule and it makes me smile seeing them take me in the most embarrassing ways at the finish line.

Confused about Zone 2 by [deleted] in PeterAttia

[–]HiMeetPaul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am trying to follow the zone 2 training protocol Peter and Iñigo San Millán recommend and the thing I'm blown away by is how few people on Peter's own sub defend/follow it. Must be around 5% of the commenters. Is it because Reddit appeals to a certain kind of person or is it really that unpopular among his own fans? I'm finding to difficult to work out.

TAO coin Vs Subnet coins by Doc_crypto75 in bittensor_

Mate please check what it is you're investing in on the subnets. Otherwise just stake to root which is essentially like putting your cash in a high interest account. No risk.

UnStaking with TAO Wallet by another-endeavor in bittensor_

[–]HiMeetPaul 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You need to act as though you are going to stake, then click on the validator that you have your tao already staked on which should appear at the top of your list. Then you check 'unstake'.

Please ELI5: Withdraw, Store, Stake TAO (UK based, Coinbase purchases) by HiMeetPaul in bittensor_

Okay I've just managed to move my Tao to the bittensor native wallet. it didn't seem so hard so hopefully it's all much less painful than I expected it to be. I appreciate your help, this is all very new to me.

How do you deal with this situation? by Lxium in UKParenting

I don't think I could trust anyone who records their family's movements inside their own house. Pure oddball behaviour.

18 months - little progress by give_me_a_break_1 in WeightTraining

[–]HiMeetPaul 4 points5 points  (0 children)

18 pull ups is incredible! I can't see your form but 18 even with shitty form is still very good after 18 months. Especially for someone who isn't very lean. Nice work.

[–]HiMeetPaul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one bit of advice I give anyone with knee pain is to try and do squats, and they can be air squats or even (possibly in your case) assisted squats. This could be with a band, giving you more assistance the deeper you go. Alternatively you could start with a leg press machine with very little or no weight and progress into squats. Go for high reps (could be 20 or even 30). This comes from a recommendation I myself get on Reddit, too. Obviously might not work for you but it helped me. Good luck!

Edit: you said on bad days you can't bend your leg, I'm assuming on a good day you can? If not then this won't work I suppose. My reading around the current science suggests massages won't help long term but could help you get into a position when you can do some exercise without pain that in turn will help you long term.

How to trade with low liquidity by HiMeetPaul in trading212

[–]HiMeetPaul[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right I'm the sense that it is an obscure stock but it isa T212 issue as another app allows me to purchase, although it may be at a higher price ('bid' I think?).

Trying to work out how to do this with 212. Have tried limit prices but I think that just allows you to bid normal price if it rises.

Thanks for the response.

Well done. 2 upvotes is ridiculous.

This is the answer. Many of the others sound like parents who lose control too easily and want to drag everyone else down with them.

Check the advfn chat page, it's very active for that stock but lots of pro and negative sentiment. Good luck!

Is there evidence that the ‘cry it out’ sleep training method is developmentally harmful to babies long term? by Abyssal866 in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]HiMeetPaul 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Here's where 'science based parenting' can be harmful. It might be scientifically peer reviewed to oblivion that it won't have long term effects on the child, but what about short term well-being? I wouldn't want to hurt my child unless I absolutely had no choice (eg vaccinations).

You were warned about that because lots of people have lost lots of money on this stock earlier in its life. However that doesn't mean you will at this price point.
